PostSubject: communications headphones???   Sun Jan 19, 2014 2:03 pm

Hi guys,
Was just wondering if anyone had ever used a set of communications headphones (like what pilots use in aircraft and such) I would imagine they are super comfortable to wear ( they have to be I suppose as pilots wear them for hours), do they use the usual 3.5mm or 1/4inch Jack or some other fitting?, if they use the 3.5mm Jack would they work on my PS4 both for audio and voice, also they may be no use if they are taylored for voice (bandwidth not wide enough for music and such?)
Was just wondering, its something I have never looked into (the fittings and plugs),
Some of them seem quite reasonably priced when compaired to the price of some gaming headsets,
So have any of you guys ever had any dealings with them???

If they have a 3.5mm jack that should work, I'm guessing an aviator headset would be a 1/4 in connector. So you would need a 1/4 to 3.5mm adapter. You need to see how many conductors are on the plug. Standard 3.5mm plugs have 3 conductors, left audio, right audio, and ground. The ps4 controller is 4 conductor, left/right audio, ground, and mic for the jack.
