I am not a run and gunner. I lack the reflexes and other goodies that make it possible. Yet I was tired of getting mowed down by the akimbo FMG9, watching the cool reload animation in the kill cam after some smug little shit mowed me down with them and ran off to do the same to a teammate. So I decided to give them a shot w/ an SMG, scavenger pro, hardline pro, and steady aim pro in hand. Again I am not a run and gunner, but my first match (TDM solo)I went 30-8. Those of you that play with me know that I often slide into the middle of the scoreboard with an evenish KDR. I am a team player and play for the win. Now the FMG9's are a must in my arsenal. In objective based games I can sprint and get on "B" in a hurry in the beginning of the match. The thing is freakin' lethal in tight maps,it reloads quick enough without SOH (you will need scavenger) and in many situations it tips the scales to my advantage.

So I feel a little dirty, but fuck it I am having fun. The rage mic is now one of the best features in MW3. If you haven't tried it and don't mind getting a little stink on you I would encourage you to check it out. It doesn't take long to level it up to akimbo. If I can pull it off I know there is hope for others that would like the rush of being able to sprint through a map and kill, kill, kill. Twisted Evil

I have been using them, they're pretty awesome. Great for clearing rooms/campers and a good counter for shotguns. The Akimbo skorpions are really good too.

Tip: If you double tap " Y " when you switch to your akimbo it skips the animation

Edit: I do feel a bit cheap sometimes because some of the kills are ridiculous Laughing

they are completely unfair as they should not be able to kill from such a distance ... but we are stuck with them so may as well use it

One game of dom on village I took down 3 different double kills on B flag with them... They work well...

Plus with the machine pistols, any of them, the max out at level 10. That's 10K XP. I am going to try and use them solely after I prestige to see if I rank up quicker.

Only part of them I have a problem with is the tight accuracy at unrealistic ranges. Close quarters they are great and they should be. I do hope the range gets nerfed down or the damage drop off.

I have tried them but I always find I wish I had a Stinger every time I have them equipped. Then I get in a game and run out of ammo and have nothing but a launcher and the enemy never gets any serious air support up. Murphy's bloody law. I'd still rather err and have a launcher secondary. I can pick up a gun.

I love 'em, and pretty much always run them secondary. I do have a couple of classes set up with launchers in case I need to switch out to destroy something, but they're great in areas where you may come face to face with one or more enemies.

I've been using them since release. I really dont care that people cry about them, as I was using them first. I knew machine pistols were going to be a problem. But to be honest I can do the same kind of damage with the M9's. So once the FMG9's take a hit that's where I'll go with it. Anybody feel like I do and would just rather hipfire in this game than ADSing?

they were nerfed or so i thought. i know that bowling said he was going to "rebalance" them. I've been getting used to the MP7 now, I just unlocked it when I prestiged yesterday. Once you get used to using the SMG vs. the ARs, it's unfair. I was on the sniper rock in Village with my MP7 red dot/kick and killed a guy hiding in the corner alley directly behind the white pickup.

Running specialist with this gun is like cheating. Lately my choppers were getting shot down in 3 seconds, so I used this gun with SoH,Hardline,Stalker then Assasin-Extreme Conditioning-Blindeye. If I run out of ammo then I used the silenced FMG9 and that keeps the good times rolling.

I think this prestige I'm going to run Specialist more often, I think it definitely helps knock back the enemy and frustrates the shit out of them.

Nah they havent been "Rebalanced" yet they decided to fix host migration ( Whats exactly did they fix here?) Stat loss. I've only been victim to this once and it was in survival mode I gained 2 levels went to bed and woke up the next morning minus the levels I gained the night before. And some other stuff that probably really didnt get fixed as they are still counting the billions of dollars they've made off this game so far.

Vegas- I know I had a good run with dual scorps on 1st prestige and I liked them. Will run thes if the FMG's are nerfed.

ADS'ing is overrated I think. The kick is bad and the irons suck IMHO. Better to just shoot and burn the ammo. I dont have the MP7 yet so am making due with the UMP range Rapid fire. When I ADS I die more unless I am camping for a moment.

Were the SMGs in BO this good? Steady aim is almost unfair. I am better now than in BO, but these guns are a little crazy.

Jerry-1st prestige was faster or me I think due to running specialist the whole time. Seems like every 3rd game I was getting a 5k or 10K kill just for showing up. Run hardline and your first kill is always 250xp. Even noobs like me can earn XP fast. When I run solo I run this setup. I dont like to do it with clan since it is not that team helpful unless you can get 42 kills with it.

Hip firing is where it's at in this game, you can use akimbo (fill in machine pistol here) and they are all unstoppable at close range, the difference with the FMGs as of right now is they actually can kill at range too...

I got a headshot on a guy camping the rooftop on Fallen from down the street facing it, thats just not supposed to be possible with these guns...

You can also hip fire the SMGs with great accuracy in this game like the P90 or even the UMP45... at this point killing from distance just isnt working for me so I am running Extreme Conditioning and trying to get up on people

I actually prefer the akimbo MP9s. Just a slightly slower fire rate but much easier to control and are way more accurate. No cheesy animation either when switched to them.

Wini i'm the opposite I think. I've tried steady aim, I just suck at it since I run a high sensitivity level. When I switched to Stalker Pro I was around a 1.31 KDR. I'm now at 1.65 and I've gotten to within spitting distance of a 1.00 w/l with most games coming against randoms, which is harder to pick up wins than when I'm in clan play.

I attribute it mostly to forcing myself to ADS around every single corner and breaking up sprints even if I know I'm safe, just to reinforce the habits. I strafe or dropshot every time. I've found that even if someone blows around a corner, I'll beat him because I'm sighted up and ready to go. I haven't checked in a few days but I think i'm ranked somewhere around 5000th in the world in K.C., which is my mode of choice. I'm coming along slowly in Dom, as it seems to require me to camp a lot more and defend, because my run&gun style just gets me slaughtered in that mode.

Once you find your style, stick to it and adapt it to game modes.

You can bypass the animation, after you switch weapons tap ' Y , Y' (or the PS3 equivalent) and it skips it. You can also do this when you have the laptop open calling in a kill streak, so you're weapon will be in hand instead of closing the laptop.

I love the FMGs. I recently opted for the Stinger and have found it very useful in building KS. Nothing like starting a match with hardline and capping, getting a kill and shooting down a UAV for a quick care package that could yield an Osprey, AC130 or reaper. The enemy hears that 30 seconds into the game and they're like WTF.

My decision for next prestige will be to unlock the Stinger or the ACR. Although I must say the G36 with kick is a great gun.

for those worried the FMG9 will suck after they nerf them...the skorpions should be a worth replacement...I had a guy shoot me from the top of a building and across the street with them last night...no recoil at all...

My suggestion is the Stinger for sure. There's plenty of good guns, even early on, but there's only 1 Stinger! Smile As you mentioned, you'll be hitting your killstreaks so much more often too. On maps like Dome, I've literally got my Predator without firing a single bullet. Spawn, take out a couple UAVs, toss my Bouncing Betty over a wall, toss my concussion grenades for a couple "assists" and away I go! Smile

I think you're right. This time Stinger, next time ACR or Striker.

It's ridiculous how fast helis come down with the Stinger. Lately I've been getting more kills with Sentries and IMSs than Helis.

Does the Stinger kill a Reaper with 2 shots? They chaff like an AC130, right?

Reaper goes down in 1, and you get 50XP like a UAV, lol. That striker is getting a mini patch today so don't waste a token on it. I kept the MP7 last time and will def. go stinger this time.

I'm pretty sure that it does take two shots for the Reaper actually. Same with Overwatch.

The Osprey is a pain because that one takes 3 shots so when I'm playing with randoms it usually means I've got to die before I can take that bad boy down.

The nice thing with Blind Eye Pro is that you get super fast lock-ons as well so you are out of the action for a very short time.
