activison reveals MW3 content schedule

The 2012 DLC content calendar, at least for Xbox 360 Elite subscribers:


January: Two new maps (Liberation and Piazza)
February: New multiplayer map
March: New multiplayer map, two new Spec Ops missions
April: Two new multiplayer maps
May: New multiplayer map, new Spec Ops mission
June: New multiplayer map, new Spec Ops mission, new game mode
July: Two new multiplayer maps
August: New multiplayer map, new Spec Ops mission, new game mode
September: New multiplayer map, new Spec Ops mission
Even though many PS3 players also are signed up to the Elite premium service, as of now there has been no official word on when they will get their first DLC. Microsoft and Activision agreed upon an agreement in 2010, that offered all Call of Duty DLC timed exclusivity on the Xbox 360 platform, and this agreement continues to be in effect.

You can probably add a month to all those release dates for PS3 elite users. Just FYI.

That's promising. 12 new maps is definitely going to keep it fresh. I sort of like having the monthly releases instead of map packs every 3 months.

Double XP for each I hope.

yeah I figure as much also but since they have still not announced ps3's first drop I am wondering if it wont be 2 months ughhhh

on the subject of getting double xp when the content drops, i guess we should just ask the wonderful (euphamism) folks on the 360 whether they got one, as they already have their drop.

New content each month is for elite premium users...non-premium users will still have to purchase a "A DLC content collection that brings together "content drops" from January to March..." I would assume double xp weekend will fall on those release dates...but that's pure speculation by me.

Yep no sign of double xp. I too like the more sporadic content releases than just quarterly. Makes it stay fresh.

I just want some content and DLC guns would be cool as well.

I'm a little disappointed in this actually. I got the hardened edition so I only paid $40, but a lot of people paid $50 for a year of elite. So for that they get 12 new maps, some spec ops missions that most people won't touch, and two new game modes that probably should have been released for free.

If these 12 maps came in three map packs of four, everyone would be bitching because they'd be paying $16.67 for four maps when previous packs were $15 for 4-5 maps.

I'm hoping the treyarch game from this year provides more DLC and a schedule of DLC before I have to renew. I usually don't like the treyarch games as much, but they seem to be more community oriented than infinity ward.

DLC weapons would be really cool. I just don't know how they'd code it because what if someone tries to pick up a DLC gun and they didn't buy the DLC? I guess they could just make the guns disappear.

as if IW wasnt already like a menstrual cycle, now they give us something to look forward to every month. Now with the pains and aches and bitching about the game, we get to do that with the new maps.
