Top 100 give a shit

So the top 100 clans list had a huge amount of support.

I have been asking our 100s of members to also help the 30 YouTube channel, by liking and more importantly sharing vids on your FB or Twitter.
I checked the stats last week and see only 2 ppl have shared videos on a social network. One of whom was me, the other may be Dave.

I subscribed to the YT channel yesterday after reading one of your posts. As for social media... I am too old, I guess. I use Twitter to follow comedians I like and FB is something I use to keep up with family... gaming is for me. I don't particularly like to mix the two. Sorry.

I wouldn't expect everyone to hock, but a lot of ppl said they like the channel and would like to see more. And I know many do use fb and twitter for gaming related topics. And ppl use other forums mainly activision for elite. I guess I'm disapointed by the overwhelming lack of support.

I subscribed a while back cause I like the video's (and by all means keep em coming) but I don't do the twitter thing and my Facebook is just for family stuff and none of them play video games so it would not get u any visibilty anyways. But I will try and see if there is any other ways I can help. Soory to have let u down brother. Now I feel bad.

KillFace some people are just not into youtube and videos. Some of these people may not even have youtube accounts, or twitters, or facebooks. That's why I have never really pushed getting subs from here or anything. Most members with accounts do sub eventually.

Don't get down or upset because you don't see the support that you think we should have. We are all adults. Most youtubers are kids and teenagers. Just because we have 600 members doesn't mean that we should have 600 subs. That would be nice but not the case.

There's 2 things that I know. I will never win the lottery and I will never be famous or rich because of youtube. I just enjoy making vid's from time to time.

Ok, i shared several vids through my STPR06 FB page the only problem is I have no friends (boo me) thorugh this page. I only created it to save it so that if I ever needed it I would have it. So, if any of you want to hit my up through FB you can do it that way; just search STPR06. This way you dont have to see all of the cheesy pics of my kids and family BS that is probably BORING and unnecessary and my family doesnt have to see my "stupid" video game crap either.

I also Liked the Over30clan FB page!

Why are people always begging for likes, followers and subs? Do you get paid for this? Excuse my ignorance, but I honestly don't know.

Cmon the1 no one expects to get rich and famous we don't even monitize the vids, but do you not think a little support would go amiss with all the effort that into a vid. It would boost the clans rep way more than that bs top 100 clans link

From what I understand there are different ways youtubers get paid, but once they monetize their channel it is $x.xx for every XXX number of views (typically 1,000). This typically comes from advertisers willing to pay to have their ads run on your channel. The more views you get per video the more advertisers are willing to pay you per XXX blocks of views.

Partnered channels post or affiliate their content to a Partner (i.e. Machinima, etc) and get paid based on views as well. And it goes on and on with legalities, copyright issues, content ownership and all the BS you can imagine. So, someone like a JennaMarbles who has 3M+ subs and gets 500,000 views per video may make like $5 (or more) for every 1,000 views and bring in $2,500 (or more) per video she posts.

The smaller channels (let's say Woody or Wings) put up multiple videos a day getting 50,000- 100,000 views and making $250-500 per video. If the video gets more likes it shows up in searches better and looks better for their advertising partners that their content is well received. More subs equals larger channel allowing them to attract better tiers of advertisers and more $$ per 1,000 views.

This is what I understand and it may be all very wrong because this stuff is somewhat secretive. They also have clauses once they monetize their channels that they cannot discuss compensation details or they will loose their channels.

Not that you are entitled to an explanation, but I could care less about Youtube, Twatting or MyFace. Second, as has been discussed many times in various threads, our whole clan has a huge % of members that are not active on this site or in the game - so why do you think that they would be active on the youtube channel?

Lastly, your approach to the issue is not likely to win over supporters to your cause.

I've been a subscriber since you started the channel. I don't share on FB and I don't do twitter, so good luck with those.

And, I'll say it again, and keep saying it. I think we need less exposure, not more. We have enough people coming to the clan that we have to close the gates (albeit temporarily). If people want to find us, they can.

Also, the videos are cool and very well done. I know we all like them, but they probably aren't that interesting to anyone outside the clan.
