| I would assume so, as it is ran by Activision and not iw or treyarch. I noticed only just recently that you can now view your Black Ops career on elite, has that just been added or have i just never noticed before? | |

Last month, announced Call of Duty Elite 2.0 during an earnings call. Today, Activision social media manager Dan Amrich has clarified exactly what that means.
In a post on Activision his blog, Amrich explains that the service will not require a separate subscription. Instead, it's simply a slew of new features for the current Elite service. From my understanding it is just an update to elite. There won't be an elite and an elite 2.0. 2.0 is just elite evolving. Details will be released in September though.

Activision has clarified exactly what it was talking about when it mentioned "Call of Duty Elite 2.0" in an investor call last month. As explained in a post on the publisher's One of Swords blog, community man Dam Amrich stated that "2.0" does not mean a whole new product that you'll have to buy a second subscription for. It's just shorthand for "new features are on the way". "This shareholder tease led some people to assume that they would have to buy two subscriptions to Elite - the one you have now and a new one for the forthcoming game. Nope," he wrote. "This is more about upgrading and revising the service that currently exists. They always promised Elite would evolve, but now they clearly have some specific upgrades in mind timed to the next game. "It helps to remember that Elite is a service, not a boxed product" he continued. "Consider Xbox Live. You need an annual subscription to get what it offers, but when Microsoft added more video programming and updated the dashboard interface and made it more Kinect-friendly, as they did late last year, you didn't need a second XBL subscription to see those changes. "Same thing here. 'Elite 2.0' is just a short, software way of saying 'significant improvements are in the works.'" More detailed description

| Who is going to extend there elite subscription before BLOPs 2. Remember it was only a 9 month subscription you bought but they added an extra month or 2 because of the problems they had at the start of elite. |

| I'll renew mine, I like the fact that I'm basically pre-paying for the maps and then getting them a little bit earlier than the rest of the people on PS3.
Since it's only an update to the current elite, I wonder how the clan level thing is going to work. Maybe it will be like the individual career stats with separate slots for MW3 and Blops2. That means we get to start all over again with clan ops and challenges.
