So I realized when watching these that for whatever reason my own voice isn't going through and recording, something I have to figure out later. Anyway, here's as Slam puts it "me against the world".

Bwahaha you and Delta with your fucking shotguns! LOL My drunken rage mic was in full effect that game. I think that was the match I went into game chat to tell my team mates to go cap a fucking flag instead of hiding behind the wall at A. It's always a challenge to play against a full team of 30s!
Good game assholes.

regarding recording your voice - have you changed the preferences in the xbox to push chat over headphones and tv at the same time?

That won't capture his voice, that will only get the game chat which is what it sounds like he's getting now.

Well it's difficult to say since I have no idea how /what you have setup currently.
What pvr are you using? How is it connected? What headset are you using? wired or wireless?
There are many ways to record your voice. Most people give up with the pvr to do it because of the multitude of splitters, adapters, and cords you need. So they just record their voice on a separate (usb) mic attached to their PC. Then add that audio track later manually.
This discussion can get real long winded quick depending on the above variables. So let me know what you have setup at the moment and we'll work from there.

I had a feeling it would involve splitters and stuff.
I'm really not that concerned about it, if I ever want to do it I'll cross that bridge later, thanks!

Holy crap dude that's a massive setup...I run live sound for bands and I don't think I hook that much shit up LOL!!!
Thanks though, it was quite informative, a lot of things I didn't know were even out there.

grats on dropping a wiring moab on slam
if you're familiar with that type of equipment this should be a breeze - you can also check out the thread in my sig - slam and I both explain our setups in detail there (missiler too now I think about it)
having to do it all over again im not sure if id go with the radio shack mixer - but a behringer instead for like 10 bucks more model 502b i think

Behringer makes GREAT equipment, that's what that mixer is...one of our power amps that I use to run the main speakers in our live setup is also a Behringer.
This has all been very interesting, not sure if I want to go through all that just to get my voice recording, honestly I never even considered recording live until I started playing with you guys. And like you said, I could just get a mic hooked up to the computer and add in my voice if I choose...an extra step but probably a lot less messy lol. I actually do have one video on my channel, my very first MW3 game, where I turned the built in mic on my laptop and recorded my thoughts as I was playing and then just added it.

well if you ever decide to - here is some info that will help immensely
the headphone jack on the controller is 2.5mm stereo
you'll obviously want the mic line to feed into a mic level input on the mixer. one issue ive been having is the L and R (mic and game sound) are coming out of my splitter as one feed and going to the mic level input - i have a bad hum and when i introduce an isolator for some reason it creates a ton of echo over my mic
it worked for a while then suddenly started doing this - so im going to try a different isolator if that doesnt work im revamping my entire setup lol
