XCOM Enemy Unknown

Picked this up as I was a massive fan of the original series. (on xbox)

I was a fan on the PC many years ago (the Commadore Amiga) and was interested as well; so how is the game?

Yea the original was on PC its different and I am still getting into it the graphics are awesome the biggest difference is that you don't have AP you just get a move and fire action (or double move) but getting into it.

Yeah i used to love XCOM, the later versions (Aftermath, Afterlight etc) were pretty amazing games too, but in my opinion they lacked the mystery and atmosphere of the original.

Is this new game only on Playstation? Is it a FPS?

Its on Xbox,PC and PS3 its a turn based game just like the first 3.

I thought they made xcom FPS? I was kinda put off when I heard X-com was going FPS, glad it's back to it's roots. Although I loved playing apocalypse in real time, made it feel like an RTS, I wonder can I still do that here?

OK i was really exited about this and bought it a couple of weeks ago, i played it a lot last week and i have to say im pretty dissapointed

At first i was impressed by the base management system and the overall atmosphere of the game, but i have to say it feels like Xcom but dumbed down A LOT.

The bits i find particularly dissapointing are the quite limited tech tree

and the fact that you can't pick up items and use them in the field (like med packs from my dead medic ).

Suffice to say this weekend i'm trading it in for BO2

(on that note, i haven't played BO1 yet, do the storylines follow on?)

Sorry if i'm ranting, i guess i'm just rather dissapointed
