Random, amusing story...

MW3. BCbaldeagle pre-orders the game like 4 months in advance. Discovered multi player in the first Black Ops, and is more addicted to it than cocaine. Cannot wait until MW3 is out...midnight release. Three weeks before the release, I am informed that I have to travel to the Netherlands for work...the same week of the release. Not happy. Awesome wife volunteers to pick it up for me, so that it will be there when I get back...5 days after the release!!

Funny part of the story. I am out in the Netherlands, just outside of a place called Kerkrade. I'm out drinking with my boss...on Monday night. We are half cocked and leaving the bar around 11:30, as we have to work in the morning. As we are walking back to the hotel, we pass a store with about 100 people outside of it. My boss muses out loud "I wonder what is going on over there...that is strange at this hour". After a couple of seconds, I have a coherent thought through the drunk haze - Holy Shit! I know exactly what that is - MW3 midnight release...in the Netherlands!! I play dumb and tell my boss I have no idea what is going on over there. Back at the hotel, say goodnight to boss, pretend to go to room, and head straight back out to that store - well, not exactly, there was a McDonald's across the street, and I was kind of drunk...so that's actually where I went (fish filet and chicken nuggets taste exactly the same over there). I then spent the next hour chillin' with Netherlands gamers, talking about gaming, then ended up at some dude named Kees's apartment playing until 3 in the morning. It was awesome.

My boss just thought I was more banged up than it looked like the night before, when I rolled in on 3 hours of sleep all bleary eyed. And since the are 5 hours ahead of the east coast, I actually got to play it hours ahead of when I would have had I been home!
