This is an attempt to recover threads from our old domain.
It may be hard to follow but this is a series of posts copied and pasted over..

For simplicity I will refer to spawn flag as "A", it could be A or C
Capping A is never a problem it will always take a min for opponent to get across map..
So, 0n a 6 man team, 1 guy goes to A, the other 5 rush B. The fight always begins at B, and once it's taken it can be hard to take back
If 5 people rush it, we should be able to take with only a couple casualties.
You could use lightweight and marathon for your first life to get there faster, then switch classes after.
EDIT: Flak jacket can be benificial too.
Once A and B are capped, 1 player from the front 5 falls back to "A", to gaurd it..the other 4 stay on the front line.
push the front line just past B (not to far otherwise the spawns change) But don't stay behind B to far.
If we are contrrolling both points effectively 1 member from the front 4 can advance into their spawn and wreck havok
This will require some comm. but you could also use the map to see where you may be needed
I think the key to battle is controlling "B"
"A" may get boring for a minute, But I almost always find as soon as I leave "A", a enemy sneeks in and caps it. So It needs to be guarded
In GroundWar you go from 6 to 9 players, the same strategy could be used adding 1 player to defend A (3 defenders) 1 to B (5 defenders) and 1 to the forward advance and messing with their minds crew. (2 guys running around their spawn) The forward advance guys should be players who are well adapted to run & gun playstyle. Tac inserts may be useful for this role.
A defenders should carry Strela's to take down air support ( because they are in a safer area)
Open to discussion and improvements...What do you guys think

looks spot on to me ,
but this only works when the whole team is on the same page , throw just 1 random in the mix , and sure as shit he will be the guy taking C.
i agree the guy watching A does have a boring job,i've gone countless matches without even firing a shot ffs.
but now i usually watch B while being close enough to A if needed

After they get slaughtered at B, they will usually start to try to flank A...

Thats how I usually try to get the enemy of a B

This works. C4 dropped on A and B help hold the flags and ground sensors on the periphery of the map help key in on when they are flanking to try and cap A.

Does anyone have any idea about how to beat a spawn trap? I was in a group that got hammered on Havanna on Saturday. We were not able to win the battle for B and then we were unable to escape our spawn from A. It felt like they had guys at every corner 3 + deep. I am interested in hearing about how people have beat this back.

had a great time Sunday PM on domination. Savvy, Lilrif, Vermont, Steve, Dave, and FBD to name a few . We did great with 50% of the team running M-60's laying down walls of lead. We did a nice job beating back what seemed like full team rushes onto A. Great communication on where the bad guys are running. Good tactics, teamwork and joking around. Thanks guys!

Was I in that group? Some names sound familiar and I remember Vermont running an M60 and getting teased and praised all at the same time.
I also took C in one game on Launch "just for fun" to screw up the enemy spawning We still smoked them though.

Yes you were Carl. Spawn flipper! I remember that because they then started spawning behind us at A. You reasoning was "Hey lets mix it up a little". Too funny.

On a few of the matches we played this weekend, when I wassure we had a good hold on two points, I would sneak into the enemies spawn areas place a Tactical Insertion and start blasting. If I was close enough to the kill I would run back to the Insertion and show them were it was and where I was hiding. I would spend the remainder of the match batteling pissed off players trying to kill me or destroy my insertion. This tactic took them away from trying to dominate points and kill fellow teammates

Again, I only used this tactic when we had a pretty good hold on two points.

Maybe someone could post some Spawn Point info. I know when we have A&B they are going to spawn somewhere around “C” but that is as much as I know. It seems that when we’re getting spawned trapped they know exactly where we’re at. Are they using the map to pin point the spawn or are there set spawn points?

Posts: 519 Another tactic we all should learn is how to keep them at their flag: choke points and high traffic areas. Maybe, and what a dirty thing to consider, we should learn how to spawn trap to better understand how it happens and to prevent the ugliness from coming down upon us...running in twos would also help. I've seen the horror and Mayhem from a highly organized team and it's time we should push back....Mwahahaha....

Some maps lend themselves to spawn tapping more than others. Summit is by far the worst. IIf I'm the crew leader, I pull out of Summit every time. Havana is also pretty bad. The way to beat it is to have a hardened class and shoot thru the wall at the fountain campers. They won;t know what hit them. It is easy to trap in Discovery too. Lay in the ice cave and you will get about 5 easy kills before they come looking for you.

In my opinion, Summit should be avoided permanently.

Posts: 242 That tactic works amazingly well on a linear map like jungle or Havana. It's a little harder to pull off on triangular maps like launch and stadium though. Havana spawn lock, i always take the long way around through the sniper room, flash n nade the corners. I was surprised to see this post because when I posted a let's talk tactics thread i was mocked ny the WC30 who don't use tactics or have a game plan because the game is to variable.

Maybe we should all make attempts to move over, manually, old forum topics and craziness...perhaps make a sad attempt at an ARCHIVE sticky

HHmmmm...ok.
Should have read this last night, perhaps I would not have felt like the new guy in prison.
I heard everyone talking but I had no idea what the strategy was...and I found that it really needs to change on my end. Thanks for the post!

Dont worry you'll get used to playing with us pretty quickly. Its hard to have any strategy playing with randumbs so playing with us will be something different. Of course after a while playing with the clan you will tend to get more pissed playing with randumbs cause it will make their stupidity stand out even more. I basically avoid playing matches now unless im playing with at least 2 other people. A few nights ago was a good example since my 5 randumb team mates started our kowloon match by passing by C and not even going to B. They all ran to A for some damn reason leaving me to try to cap C myself and get over run by 6 enemies that capped B untouched.

Kagan-
No worries. Before we had a strategy we just ran around wondering how we won. At least I did anyway. Simple rule is leave the other flag alone until we are crushing them. Dont go behind the other teams flag so you dont flip the spawn. If you flip the spwan they will start spawning behind us. That is less fun.

I second Nixon on the ramdumbs. They will stand next to flags staring off into space and not cap anything. Then they will run off towards some unknown location to do no one knows what.

Yeah I'm still getting used to the strategy, so sorry If I've been screwing it up last few times. I gave up my rushing class and all my pro perks and have focused now on prestiging through clan domination matches and some solo work when there aren't enough guys online.

If you need spot relief for keeping an "A" or "C" flag let me know, but I don't care about my KDR anymore, I'm sure it's going to drop down from 1.4 to 1 within a month anyway.

I tried randoms last night and just ended up cursing them out every match and rage-quitting. Ugh.

I'll have to show you my "Rage Receptacle" sometime. It's a mangled Coleman cooler than I curb-stomp the shit out of after a particularly frustrating game of "Call of Duty: Lack of Hit Detection."

The strategy is sound but you will find most games go like this....

1 guy caps the spawn flag (A or C)
rest of team mad rushes B
every man for himself where ever on the map guarding A (or C) and B
shout out communication and mad rush to defend if you are losing a flag
shout out communication if you lost all flag as to which flag to start with again

Still golden using communication in objective based games and you will usually smoke randoms who don't talk to each other.

It's pretty painful not playing with clan members now. I wish the matchmaking at the very least didn't throw you into games where it's 190 - 60 and the enemy has triple capped. Always nice to get an instant loss 5 seconds after you start a round. Sad

When I play with the clan we win most of the time. Dom is all about team work and trying not to die too much so the other team does not get too many kill streaks.
I am not the best rusher but I will alway shoot down every spyplane, counter spy plane or any thing else in the air. The other night on Jungle the other team had two chopper gunners, that were shot down before they could do much damage by us.

I enjoy getting two out of three flags and patrolling between A and B. seems to work best rather than the randomness. The best strategy I have seen used against us was a group of 5 that rushed as a group from flag to flag to flag in a racetrack pattern. With 5 they capped in 2 seconds and moved on. and you couldn't kill them all. They had one guy who was either random or stupid and he just camped the B flag, but it was enough to disrupt us. Becuase they were moving in a racetrack we were basically following them in a circle trying to take back each flag we just lost. It kept us always a few points behind and we lost the game. Very frustrating.

Agreed Big Daddy. This has been used against us to great effect. Very frustratin when you have no idea where they are coming from and how to stop them since it seems like all the flags are blinking at one time.

I suppose the way to counter it is to get two three man teams to camp two flags. or get all six to rush in a racetrack pattern in the opposite direction.

@ BDn8..How long did it take you guys to realize they were using that strategy? It's actually fairly smart, because as soon as you reverse...so do they. Seems like the only thing against that would be a group of 5 defenders that hold out long enough to disrupt their racetrack strategy. Perhaps after the disruption 1-2 break away to pick up B. Sort of funny (but yes frustrating) the way you described it...one team chasing another around the map...

Once again let me just throw it out there...

So leave one guy to cap A, then the rest rush to secure the choke at C without flipping the spawn and then leisurely take B... I've seen so many games fucked by this strategy.

Yeah...I've seen that used against us a few times. It's kinda funny cuz most of us play best by the "hold two points" strategy...something like this takes us out of our comfort zone. The quote I hear most often during these games is "WTF...these guys are everywhere! How can they be all over the map?"

Last night's 3 games in a row on Nuketown were about as perfect as it gets. Everyone was holding down the chokepoints, calling out people who squeezed through the cracks and grabbing B the few times we lost it. Great stuff!

Bump for some of the newer guys to get an idea of how we roll

Part of the 2 flag strategy is keep them in front of us. This helps build Killstreaks.
Once the 3rd flag is capped we might as well be playing TDM because the spawns become random.

Don't cap the third flag. If you are playing with the clan, don't do it. Period. Do not do it. Nothing worse than getting shot in the back while on a nice kill streak. Don't pull some macho BS and try to triple-cap just because we are in a clan and have organized game strategy, proven to work. There is a good chance that once we dominate, the other team spawns behind us, takes our first flag, then B, and some will spawn at the third flag and the next thing you know it tables have turned, and we are all re-spawning in a disorganized manner. Sure, if the opponent is complete newbie trash then it works but let's just stick with the basics, it has gotten us this far.
The full domination is permitted once we have an 80 pt lead but it is still not accepted by all.
Thanks.
