Blinking red ligh help?

Ok, so I turned on BO 2 this evening, downloaded the new update, selected play online......got two beeps then the system shut off and blinking red light. Same thing 2 more times over the course of an hour. Each time I turned off the main power switch on the back and let it sit for about half an hour. But no luck.

Its a fat 60gb CECHA01 model that a buddy gave me because it was ylod. I paid the $99 to have Sony fix it in Jan of 2011, so I've gotten a years use out of it. I'm really hoping I don't have to buy a new one.

Any suggestions? Or is it done for? If its dead, Should I pay the money to have Sony refurb it again, or just shell out the $250 for a new one?

You might want to consider a used one since all the rumors say the new consoles will be out this Christmas.

It's either overheating or the board needs a reflow most likely in these YLOD situations, I had to reflow my CECHA01 a time or two and have done 2 since I got the correct equipment that are still running great. Ultimately it's going to be up to you though, alot of people liked the fatties b/c of backwards compatibility and the card reader, I know you can make 50 to 100 on ebay for it as is or can spend 75 to 100 for the fix and it will probably last another couple of years or longer. Seems like there is a thread around here for trying to prevent that issue and I think it is a sticky, a moot point now but worth a look.
