Halo 4 = my new COD replacement

I have to admitt i was having a lot of fun with halo , never got a chance to get back on last night. When do u all normally play? Next 4 days i will be on late 1030 or so till about 2.

I'll be on Friday night (going to try and set up a FNG-ish friday party) and sat/sun during the day/evening.

ive been thinking about picking this one up. i hate the jumping in it though.

^^^ haha I love it... and don't let AK hear you talking trash about the jumping... i heard him rave about it for like 10 minutes last night haha But seriously, i can understand how some don't like it with it being crazy high and a little "floaty".

Really?? That's one of the things that I love about it - it gives you just enough of the super-human element without it being over the top.

^^^ i agree with you AK. Just enough to be like "ok, this armor makes me a bad ass" and not "ok, return to earth annnnnytime now". Plays great with a Scuff/Scuff styled controller! Being able to jump up above something and have the float to be able to accurately aim and fire in mid air = awesomeeeeee!

i guess i hated it because you are a sitting duck when you jump.

The jumping and the jet packs are all just part of Halo.

It adds to the vertical nature of the game, the maps.....all of it. Takes some adjusting to that is for sure.

I just wait for em to land and then it is hammertime.....they like to fly right? I'll send em flying across the map!!!!

And I don't mind the verticality of the maps, b/c the VAST majority of the weapons are shorter range and longer kills...so it's not like (unlick CoD) that someone finds a perch up high and just picks ppl off 1 after another (i.e. sniper on the tower on Array in BO1)


On another note, i thought i would HATE the time to kill, b/c it takes so many shots to kill someone. But, you get used to it very quickly and that long time to kill is what, i believe, makes the feeling of lag so scarce in Halo. Honestly, you just can't tell if you're .5 seconds behind someone b/c you don't kill/die in .5 seconds.

.5 seconds in a 3-4 second gunfight isn't NEARLY as noticable as .5 seconds in a .5 second gunfight.

I'm actually starting to prefer the longer times to kill. I feel there are 3 scenarios this allows for unlike most quicker-to-kill shooters.

1.) You and your opponent see each other at the same time... it's then a challenge to see who takes whos shields down first and then finishes off their opponent. I'll get in the frantic situation where both of our shields "pop" at the same time and then its a "Oh shit next bullet to the head wins!" mentality where anything can happen!

2.) You see your opponent first and can either power up a shield bursting weapon/grenade and quickly land a headshot for quicker death... OR you fire and he realizes he's being shot at and has time to react, take cover and or flee.

3.) Same as above but you're seen first and have more options besides a COD .126 second instant death haha.

It really emphasizes gunfights and decision making. Who brings what to which gunfight and uses cover/grenades the smartest etc.

do you need an online pass for it?

No online pass, just have to have enough memory space to install disk 2. Think it was around 3gb.

Not that I'm aware of.

I don't recall entering any online pass and my boys used it before I did so I'm going to say that you don't need one.

Just the basic game used or new and you should be good to go after you download all the stuff.

I picked up a brand new copy at BB yesterday for $39.99 - Target was running it on sale and I had BB price-match it.

I didn't need any sort of pass - installed the game and immediately jumped into games with gun/okra/bren.

Nah its cool, was funny as hell listening to u guys talk about the jumping, beat down and THE HAMMER!!! Had my mic muted most of the time cause it was causing the echo effect. Gonna try and get my turtle beach headset hooked up tonight. Its cool getting to know some of the Xbox members, hope we can do a halo fng

Haha right!? I had one happen that i'd never seen before... it switches into 3rd person as some guy sprints and tackles me bro style i go face first laying on the ground as he then proceedes to shank my ass in the kidney!! haha i pee'd lol.

Here's a vid of all (most really) of the multiplayer assassinations. The ones with the OddBall/GriffBall (skull) are the most badass when the guy ignites and vaporizes to ash haha!

I never thought to jump before assassinating someone - love it!

Yeah its really cool that for something as simple as an assination they go all out and make like 10 different ones depending on weapon and position and stuff! Just goes to show how polished H4 really is!
