This past week I got the chance to travel to Prague on business.
We arrived around 3:00PM on Monday and checked into the hotel and we walked across the river to the city to walk around and grab some drinks and dinner. The city is about what I expected huge old buildings, small streets, cobble stop roads, and pubs all over the place. There is definitely an old town charm in Prague. I have no idea the name of some of the restaurants but I thought the food was very good. I had some spicy beef goulash, steak tartar (Raw beef), mussels, potato dumplings, and others which are common in the states like chicken and turkey.
On Tuesday I got my first experience of highway driving and it was faster than I expected. I was thinking around 90 MPH, but not really expecting 140. Even at those speeds it didn't feel like you were out of control or anything like that, it felt safe. Me being somewhat of a car guy I thought it was cool.
I tried several different beers on my trip like Stella, Hoegarden, Pilsner, and Budvar. There is definitely a much stronger taste to beer in Europe that in the states. I know you can buy Hoegarden in the states I think around $40 a case. I also bought a bottle of Becherovka which has a black licorice taste…very good.
Anyway I thought the trip was a great experience and I look forward to the next time I get to visit.
So if any of the UK guys or gals felt a little strange last week it might be because an EC clannie found his way across the pond.
