I was quite nervous for the rest of the match about the host rage quitting and getting screwed by theater because we were destroying them. If anybody wants to check the aimpoints or pull the clip for a montage a clip is saved in "edited films" in my BO2 theater. Is there a trick to getting slow motion in theater? trying to get consistent speed slow motion by pulling the trigger while moving the free camera around is kind of tricky.

To get smooth slow motion, go to options and change your controller config to badbot, this is more like mw3 theater and allows you to change the speed in 10% increments.
Also, while in free camera, try rolling the clip until the blade is in the air, the move the free camera right up close (until the shading turns green), then, lock onto the axe. Once locked, you can rewind and the camera will follow the player until the blade is thrown, then track the blade to it's landing.

I thought the same thing, but I messed around and found a way to make it run normal without having to use pressure sensitive speed control. When you are editing go to options and change the controller layout. I forget which one it is but it has an option to set the speed like in MW3. You can also use dolly cam to set your camera path instead of having to free hand the camera while recording. Within the dolly cam you can also adjust the speed of each camera segment. I love the features they have added to help editing in theater.
Also, you can actually attach the camera to nades, hawks and rockets and have it follow to the target from whatever angle you want.

LOL! Yeah... I've dived into the deep end of montaging techniques... no finished projects (tho one is 90% done), and stumbled across a few tips along the way...
(advanced techniques for the extremely smooth slo-mo (like seen in the OpTic montages) if you've got a PVR and Adobe After Effects is to the set the theater playback at 0.1x and record the segment... OpTic 2bar has some really good tutorials on his channel on how to do this...)
