| There is alot of interest on the xbox side of x30 in doing a small teams tournament. So i thought i would see in any one on the PS3 side would be interested.
The matches would be on various game modes and maps.
No lethal kill streaks.
No noobtubes, launchers or lethal equipment.
No riot shields.
No Tactical nades.
No Ghost.
No snipers.
No target finder, mms or dual band.
Core game modes only.
Match rules would vary by game mode (ie pistol only tdm)
Any suggestions welcome

| daspear, a small tourney is perfectly fine, the only thing you're gonna run into problems with it is scheduling. we did this about a year or more ago, and it sorta fell apart because we all live in different time zones, so it was difficult in some cases to get certain teams to play against one another. if you get responses to this, go for it and give it a try it may work out differently this time. | |

| i hear what kamea is saying, i have been around for a couple of tournaments that have fallen apart because of scheduling and not being able to get games in. i really like the idea of a tournament, maybe we try to do an all day tournament? or a weekend long tournament, try to get all games done in a very short amount of time rather than say once a week we have tried before?
and my game type choices: dom, kc, tdm.

| Just wanted to pop in here and let the PS3 guys know what I'm doing with the Xbox side. Were going to be doing week and weekend long tournaments. Basically teams are chosen, a captain assigned and then the team captains schedule all needed matches so that all are completed within the time of the tournament. You'll all basically have a good amount of time to schedule common ground for matches. | |

| I would play, but only if it is CORE. I won't play Hardcore. | |

| I would be down for whatever. The 6v6 tourneys are tough for scheduling like stated above, but smaller groups is a great idea. Thanks Guns, thanks Spear for stepping up.
I'll just say this, if you say your in, mean it. If your on the fence, you will be the problem for scheduling. I'm west coast, wouldn't be able to daytime during the week (work), but open the rest of time.

| Once we get enough people to commit, we will discuss the time frame of the tourney, I like the idea of a weekend long tourney, or just have matches scheduled on weekend days. |

| Another thing we might need to do is spread the word in game. To me, it feels like the majority of the PS3'er don't post much on the forums. | |

| I too have seen many a tourney fall apart because people can't make it. I was thinking about this and I think they best thing would be to try to knock out the tourney in one day. Before you have people say they can play, pick the time for the first round of matches to start. Say 3pm Pacific on Saturday June 8th (for example). Get a count of people, divide into teams, and the first round is ready to go.
Assume 8 teams of 4. Give 60 mins for the teams to play their 3 or 5 or whatever number of games. 4 winners advance to semi-finals. All start that same day at 4pm Pacific Saturday. 2 winners advance to the finals at 5pm. Or something like that. It could even be the next week at 3pm again, or whatever has been agreed to beforehand.
All I'm saying is, have a predetermined time frame for the tourney and I think you will have a better turnout. Often times, people say they are in, but then can't make it because of whatever reason. If you set the time of the tourney beforehand, people can either clear their schedules, or at least try to schedule around it, as opposed to trying to fit in a game here or there for 6 or 12 people.
BTW, tradition dictates that after the winner is declared for each round, the two teams will play a game of FFA on Nuketown. No restrictions on weapons.

yes between the lag issue and the divide over hardcore and core seems like a lot of people have been either not on or doing dif game's

| I'd be down. I'm mostly a late night player though from 930-1000 EST to early morning hours and it's almost impossible for me to get on during the day, even on the weekends. I also travel a good bit so it would be nice to work out a set schedule so I can work out the logisitics. | |
