Elite rosters questions

I have Elite and it's encouraged to have it from what I gathered from the clan application. What are the various rosters (Roster 1, 2, etc.)? Are you automatically assigned a roster based on your gameplay level or randomly? What are the rosters used for? League play? Or? Just curious how it all works.

If it were based on gameplay I would be leader of the Roster -5 aka Short Bus Clan.

Rosters are limited to 100 people. Seeings as there are more than 100 on each console, we had to have more than one roster. Before, we had 3 rosters on each console.

What I was put on 30x3 roster I should have been put on roster 5...lol

Elite offers Clan (roster) Challenges & Operations at various times throughout the week that earn experience points towards the Clan Level on Elite. During Modern Warfare 3, as the Clan  leveled up, it was possible to earn hours of double XP game play for each individual member of the roster. Unfortunately Elite eliminated all the double XP rewards for Black Ops 2 when the Clans leveled up. With the lack of rewards in BO2, you don't find many people participating in the Ops & Challenges anymore. Hopefully that will change when COD:Ghosts is released.

The Clans on Elite are limited to only 100 members so multiple Rosters were created over time as the 30's expanded. The Xbox side was close to 300 members at one time, so there were 3 Rosters. We noticed a lot of members were inactive in the game and in the forum so they were removed from the roster & forums at the end of the year. The Xbox side now has Roster 1 & Roster 3, with Roster 2 was eliminated due to most of its members being removed due to inactivity. The active members were moved to either Roster 1 or 3.

There isn't a gameplay level required for either roster, it is really random. The only requirement for being added to a roster is that new members need to have at least 10 posts in the forum, so that other members get a chance to know them and to show they are interested in being active with the group.

Once a member reaches their 10 posts in the forum they can be added to either roster. Just let one of the roster leaders now you'd like to be added and they can either send you an invite on Elite.
