I am currently doing research on a stream a few hours North of me and have been out there 10+ times but never solo. Its only acessed through a swamp/wetland so wish me luck that I do not meet any copperheads, gators etc. (at least up close) I am just putting out some Hester-dendy samplers for a side project. If I am online Thursday evening you will know I made it out alive.. .lol

Best of luck to you. Swamp/wetland is always interesting when you go traveling thru it, especially solo. You know how to stay safe and what to watch for, otherwise you wouldn't be going out. See you on the flip side.

I remember talking about wetlands in my senior seminar (BS in Biology). We talked a lot about wetland restoration and how man has dammed off rivers/etc and disconnected floodplains from their intended use as storage and conveyance for flood waters. Interesting stuff.

Back in one piece.....@ Hero, yeah it's pretty grimm, every major river in the world has been altered by man.
