I don't know if there are any other fellow car nuts on the forum but if there are... you need to be keeping an eye on Project CARS.

CARS is basically a racing sim by gamers for gamers... it was crowdfunded (now backed by more) and is being developed by a great studio.  This is current gen (WiiU is the only "next gen" to get it) and a Q1 2014 release.

It is astonishing how good this game looks and sounds... and plays from what people are saying.
