The only 3 perks you need.

I'm starting to figure this game out. Vacation, no kid, a shit bucket, and a couple of hours playing solo was all I needed. After getting my ass handed to me and going negative nonstop, this setup has me back to going positive on a consistent basis. Dead Silence, Off the Grid, and Focus. Throw on a silencer on your golden. Also IEDs are quickly making me forget all about C4. Equip a motion sensor and you can cover your ass from all directions.

I would have to agree with those perks, but Awareness, Ping and Deadeye are going to be huge.

Stalker (same as Stock in BLOPS2), quickdraw and focus are musts for me because if your enemy gets his gun up on you first, you're dead. Trouble is only 10 perk points allowed (if you 86 your lethal and tactical otherwise it's 8)and Stalker and quickdraw are 6 points total (3 each). I have a load out with these perks and another load out with the Off the Grid, Dead Silence, Focus and quickdraw. This last load out is my favorite so far. AK-12 with muzzle break and fore grip is a quick-killing laser beam gun, second only to the MSBS with a silencer or muzzle break and VMR sight. If you get two+ bullets on your target they're dead even in the legs.

Also with a headset, Amplify is a ridiculously strong perk. It can almost feel like cheating. You can clearly hear enemy movements a good distance away, sometimes even through walls. Heck, it's almost like that already. They obviously reworked the sound in the game quite a bit.

Incog is also quite handy as it counters all scopes and KS tracking rewards. I have a great ninja clas that incorpates all purple/stealth perks with specialist for takedown,scav, and sit rep. Gonna unlock amplify tonite for my solo TDM matches.

I am big on stalker. It's probably my favorite. The problem I was having with running speed perks is that people were hearing me fron a mile away so they were ready for me so I was losing a lot of one on one fights. Now there's no soun most times, I'm off the radar and with little flinch so I can stay on target. Now I'm catching more people by surprise and I'm actually winning those fights. Hate sacrificing mobility but it's working.

After reading this thread I've come to the conclusion that the only 3 perks I need....is all of them.  Thanks for nothing.

That's what you have Specialist for; you may not get all of the perks, but you can get all of the ones listed here...

Anybody else sick of all these damn perks!? I wish they went back to pick 3 perks and be done. Put people back on more of a level playing field. Nowadays perks and attachments and shit can make a HUGE difference... don't make COD into an RPG... it should be about tactics, skill and gunfights... not "fuck, his ping canceled out my this or that... and my this negates that... but is nothing because his buddy has yada yada equipped. Mean while everyone's dead because a crazy killstreak just Transformer'd the map. WTF

Focus, Focus & Focus.  Never has one perk been so important.  For me I add quick draw and stalker plus a couple others that I change around.  This puts you at the best advantage for every gunfight, which is huge with the TTK in this game.

No.  All the combinations are one of the things I love about this game.  If I just want basics, I'll go play Halo.  Having load outs for different games types and play styles is awesome.  It allows people to tailor setups to how they like to play the game.  It's the meta....that makes the game more interesting to me.

God, i wish man! lol They fucked up Halo as well and loaded it with abilities and perks and custom loadouts... ugh. Damn developers have to screw it all up haha.

I do understand how some might love all the little bits and pieces and customizing every little thing about their character and his/her actions. Personally, Id rather player speed/movement/ability was locked and player controlled... i'd rather them take away all that bullshit and give me many, many more real world weapons and modifications. Allow me to purchase armor at the cost of weight and speed for different parts of my body. Let it actively deflect/lessen damage according to their real life counterparts. Make me slow if i'm all armored up and tough as balls... not because i chose a "perk". Let me shorten/lenghten my barrel... allow me to use different ammo like AP steel core, hollow point, CJ and subsonic for real suppressed fire.

If they want to go all meta... make it realistic and cool. I dont want to "buff my mages destruction casting with "blind eye" or some shit" lol

A lot of those things with weapon modification were done in a game that was very similar to BF last year, it was called Medal of Honor Warfighter.  I really liked how they handled weapon customization in that, but you actually needed to know something about weapons to know what you wanted.  Like you could make mods to your gas system to make it fire at a faster/slower rpm but it would affect recoil and accuracy.  Or choose ammo type and all kinds of little details.  That level of detail was kind of fun, but its too cumbersome and overwhelming for someone who just wants to shoot people and blow stuff up.(casual gamers)

That being said...I don't understand how "muzzle brake" increases range.  In the real world muzzle brakes decrease recoil, but increase noise and flash for the shooter. So many of these COD weapon attachments don't make sense to me. Like how you "suppress" a shotgun.

I forgot about Warfighter! They did have a cool mod system... the gameplay just wasn't too great lol. Nor were the maps.

Yeah the "muzzle brake" thing made me giggle... as did the "chrome lined barrel" increasing damage and kick lol... wtf!? I guess they have to think of something to mod... when they could have just said it was a different ammo/grain combo for more damage/kick.

And also... silenced shotguns aren't that unheard of. A few people make supressors for Saiga12's... that RedJacket show "sons of guns" on Discovery did a bunch of silenced shooting.

I think so Ferret. The bucket is to maximize his time while playing the game. No need to leave the room for a bathroom break with a handy "Shit Bucket" next to the chair. He can continue to squeeze off a few rounds while pinching one off into the bucket!!!
