Clan Wars is Live

I know we won a lot. I checked my wins for the week when I got done last night and it was something like 18-1. They must of had a lot of people playing.

Yeah, you're definitely right about the stupid scoring system though; you guys are 3 wins away from taking Blitz.

UPDATE:  ok... you were 3 wins away from knocking #1 out...  I think once they're dethroned, then you continue scoring your way up to 50...  meaning 25 to go...? Even more interesting, the dethroned clan now shows "0 wins". I guess to get back on top, they'll need to either get to 50 before we do (we're halfway there) or dethrone us, THEN earn another 50 wins to retake the top spot...

Took the lead in Blitz. Need our 50 wins to get the node.

I'll try and grab a few lunchtime matches and see if I can help prop up that number; we fought tooth-and-nail all night for that post!

I guess I'm the only one having an issue with the app. Last night (about midnight CST) the app told me that Clan Wars was live but I wasn't engaged in the War for LA. It reminded me that I needed to have 3 members in my clan...yet it shows me a full roster of my clan....dafuq??

I guess my first question: Are we in the war for LA? If so, what do I need to do to be able to show our stats/position/nodes?

Yes it is LA. We are probably going to lose blitz to the brothers clan. We just don't have enough people on.

@DeathByAK: If you're sure you're on the Elite Roster, you may want to reach out to Activision Support; I saw a couple of posts similar to yours and they were taking names to investigate...

btw, @Beachhead has *finally* confirmed (via Twitter only...) that our understanding of the Scoring system is correct.

If the post is NOT captured by any clans: your wins score up to the 'required wins' number.
If the post is captured by our clan: Wins increase your lead and hold in that mode.
If the post is captured by another clan: Wins will decrease their lead (won't affect our 'wins') until they are reduced to zero. Then, it becomes case #1 where the post is not captured by anyone again.

I gave up we dont have enough people on to compete. Brothers clan is going to take Blitz the however many points they get will have to be diminished by us winning.

ok, so I just got the app on my phone this morning & it's working - not sure why the iPad one was saying what it said last night.

I think we might have shot ourselves in the foot by getting put int he Platinum division. Out of 8 clans in our war, we're in 7th and pretty far behind on most of the modes.  

Hey winners; I can squeeze in a couple of matches in a couple of hours... They only have 1 or 2 guys running on their clan, too... their count is only going up by 2's...

Not just that most kids are out of school this week so they will be constantly playing.

Nah they got atleast six as they past us when we had a 12 point lead. They keep playing it will just add to the deficit we have to take them down by. They get 86 points we will have to take them to 0 before our points go up.

Remember that this is essentially 'Beta Week' - right now it seems like it's WAY too big of an advantage to whoever gets the node first.

Having to take the controlling clan all the way down to 0 points is going to take forever, unless every win from every OTHER clan counts towards their deficit...?

It should, if I'm understanding the scoring correctly... Would actually make holding a post impossible if more than one other clan was competing against you for it at the same time...

This might be a tough week for the O30C to win a war against a clan of squeakers that are sitting at home from school all day for the Thanksgiving holiday.

yeah really, i havent even had a chance of getting in to play a game or 2.

I hope so... why oh why did we end up in Platinum... LOL!

Jumping in on the other team really doesn't help in clan wars. Would be better to run another party for more points.

do we need to have some form of strategy for this thing?

meaning would we be smart to have certain ppl work on certain game modes, or converserly - do we have EVERYONE work on a single game mode until we capture it and then EVERYONE move on to another?

Seems like, even after we've fragmented with the new console launch, that we should still have plenty of members participating to do some damage in these wars....

Can we please not take this so seriously. To the point where we can't play the way that we enjoy playing with our friends....which to me includes rearranging my life around a video game to "grind out wins", the occasional 30 on 30 just for the fun of it(I'm talking about getting the chance to t-bag chubbs). asshating around, or playing game modes you either don't like or aren't good at.

I'm just sayin.....at least with league play in BO2 you didn't feel obligated to participate just because you were in the clan. And you didn't have to go tryhard all the time, every time.

Yeah, clan wars does seem to be getting an inordinate amount of attention. But, it IS new and just launched and we'll see how different it is from the old Clan Ops of MW3. So still play the games you want to play, and maybe try some new game modes too ... which seems to be the biggest part of the Clan War. Basically 8 different Clan Ops going on at the same time really. lol

Dude.  C'mon.

You know that I am very much aligned with your way of thinking, usually.  But this is the FIRST full day of this being live...and it's the first time we've ever had anything like this.

Clan Ops was a total joke in BO2 b/c there was zero reward for participating.  This is actual encouragment/reward for being a member of an active clan.  You get XP multiplier bonuses (and I'm an XP whore).  If this isn't your cup of tea, then don't feel obligated to participate.  But to piss all over those that ARE interested...on day #2 seems a bit rough.  It's like you're an old man or something!   

Frankly, that's why I got hooked on League Play in BO2...b/c it was something different.  I grow very bored with Dom after Dom after Dom game.  And for a large % of this clan, that's all they want to play...this encourages diff game modes...and playing as a clan.

Am I taking it too seriously? Maybe for your taste. But I'm trying to find something to keep me interested in playing this game. I like to win...above everything else...well, maybe not above t-bagging Slam...but above ALMOST everything else!
