| So, TurtleBeach is offering a Free Xbox One Headset Adapter (when they come out) if you purchase one of the qualifying headsets. If you click the fine print, it gives some disturbing information. It says the Headset adapters won't be shipped till March. Now, it does say that the adapters "May" be out sooner, but they won't ship theres till March... March sure is a long ways off and I hope they come out sooner then that.. Here is the fine print Offer valid on end-user purchases of XP SEVEN, X42, XP400, or XP510 from participating retailers between November 22, 2013 and January 30, 2014. All claims must include the UPC from the package of a qualifying product and a copy of the related sales receipt and be submitted no later than February 28, 2014 online at www.turtlebeach.com/xboxupgrade. Limit two Xbox One headset adapters per address; no P.O. Boxes. While the Xbox One headset adapters may be available for purchase sooner, the adapters from this promotion will be shipped free of charge between March 1, 2014 and June 30, 2014. Turtle Beach and its retailers are not responsible for lost, late, illegible, illegitimate, incomplete, damaged, misdirected, or postage-due requests. Submitted materials become Turtle Beach property and will not be returned. Offer not valid on B stock, refurbished, open-box, returned or demonstration products. Offer void where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law. Offer open only to residents of the United States, Canada, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand. Turtle Beach reserves the right to modify or cancel this offer at any time. | |

| I did a DIY on mine. Took an old talkback cord from my TB cut the line at the volume/mute switch, took apart, and followed instructions that I found online to determine which line to solder to which terminal. Easy-peasy. But I already had the mini soldering iron and solder, all I need to do was find a T5 torx screwdriver, and that wasn't too difficult.
But as the the adapter issue...we are still waiting the the patch for to get dolby surround out of the optical output. That's the real sticking point. Until that patch comes out all we get in those expensive headphones is uncompressed stereo.

| As someone who owns an older sound system that uses separate optical sound and passes the HDMI signal through to the TV...that patch can't come quick enough. | |

Until that patch comes out all we get in those expensive headphones is uncompressed stereo. I have the Astro A 40's which the mixamp processes the uncompressed stereo into Dolby ProLogic II - Code:
-
ASTRO Gaming still provides a Dolby® Headphone Surround Sound experience on the Xbox One – even from a stereo input.
Microsoft’s decision to drop Dolby® encoding on their SPDIF output at launch does have ramifications for ASTRO’s products. While our products do not process DTS signals, we do have on-board Dolby® encoding in both our A50 Wireless Transmitter as well as our Wired MixAmp™ Pro. An Xbox One gamer will need to select Stereo output for game audio, but our MixAmps will process that stereo signal with Dolby ProLogic II and encode it with Dolby® Headphone – *the* gold standard for simulated Surround Sound for gaming headphones.
So have no fear gamers, your ASTRO’s will still provide a Dolby® Digital Surround experience no matter what your console choice.
You can read more about Dolby Laboratories Headphone here (http://www.dolby.com/us/en/consumer/...headphone.html).
Additionally, Microsoft has stated that Dolby® Digital output through optical will be coming as a post-launch update: http://bit.ly/1dlDkDN

I just cut both cables and soldered the cables together with the wires as in the tutorials and mine works perfect. I didn't feel like taking the box apart lol.
