Just purchased it a few minutes ago

--Hi, all. I just purchased MW3 so we can join the majority of the clan members. Before I start playing with "real" people, is there a way to do "Combat Training" like in BlOps? I am probably just overlooking it, but I was wanting to play against a few "computer" players first. Any way to do this? Thanks for your help.

No just survival mode....nothing like the multiplayer though

I find the best way to get acclimated might be the Survival mode to learn some of the maps (4). Best bet is probably to run with at lest 3 other 30s if you're split screening, 4-5 if you're not. They'll at least try to help out by communicating over mics and depending on mode (KC/DOM) it helps to travel in packs of 2 at least at the start. Hope to see you on when I get back from vacation.

You may want to bust out your 56k modem so you can take advantage of the lag compensation

Might want to try doing some private matches by yourself so you can learn the maps. But chances are you will get some bumps once you get online because you are a couple of months behind. Good luck. See you online

yeah at this point dont get mad like we do regarding lag. bullets are going to bend around walls and people are goign to show up out of nowhere. just enjoy and have fun man if you need a group invite away =) i try to always join if i am at the ps3

--Can anyone tell me how to upgrade my weapons in the Survival Mode? I have unlocked some assault rifles and other pistols, but when I click on them (in the armory place), it doesn't seem to add it. The FN 57 is great, but I want more weapons, lol. Thanks.

you need to buy them with the cash that you get from killing the hordes. i am not quite sure you have to unlock the upgrades though. I havent had much of a chance to play survival.

--Ugh, I figured it out. I simply didn't have enough cash. I was mistaking the points for cash. The sucky thing about Survival mode is that every time you die, you don't get to keep the rifles you purchased after you die...you have to RE-acquire the money, then buy the weapons again. Oh, well. We started playing tonight online which was fun, so we will probably just start doing that, instead of Survival mode.

online is a different beast altogether. and your already playing at a disadvantage lol. however if you can suceed at splitscreen, you will be BEAST when you play on your own lol. your situational awareness will be through the roof =)

--dog_soildier: No, we are playing on the PlayStation 3, not the PC. I looked at the Elite section, but since it costs money to join, I won't be doing it right now, at least not until I look into the benefits more.

Glad you are now on MW3! I saw you online last night and invited you to a party, but figured you were either already in one, or wanting to solo a bit. If you ever see me online, feel free to message me asking if we have room for 1 or 2 (if playing split-screen). You'll probably learn fastest by playing with clanmates, not to mention it's nice knowing the rest of the team will actually play the objectives.

Do you play with a mic? I finally gave in and purchased the Turtle Beach DPX-21 and they have helped me a lot. I'm still trying to do better with call-outs, but they were so worth it.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing you guys on the field!

I have been trying to solicit opinions on different headsets in the "Technical" section of the forum, but it says something like "You don't have permission to post here". Do new members have to have a certain amount of posts before they can get help with the Technical section? Actually, I have been looking at the Turtle Beach Ear Force PX21 (don't know how similar it is to the DPX-21 you own). It's in the $65 range, so it is closer to my price range. Sooo many choices out there, lol.

The DPX-21 adds directional surround sound which has saved me a few times hearing someone coming from around the left corner.

We are going to a contra dance tonight so you will not see me. I may be able to sneak on sometime during the day.

By the way, when you see a message in the upper right hand corner from a clanmante with subject "MW3," chances are high it's a party invite. I've learned you must act fast if you want in as they normally send out more than slots available. If you're in a pre-lobby, simply click the triangle and select "friends game invites." If you are in the middle of a game, choose "start", triangle for "friends", and then "friends game invites."

Ahhcrh7677, you don't have to have a certain number of posts, but there is a 7 day wait to be able to post on the entire forum. This is designed to keep the trolls away. Good luck on the headset. There is a ton of info in the technical section as headsets have been debated to death. My advice is "Buy once, Cry once" I went thru 3 sets before sucked it up and bought a comfortable, durable set with 5.1 surround. Wish I would have just bought them once, because I wasted a lot of money on the low quality headsets. Welcome agian to the clan. Glad to see you posting up on the forums.
