| In my lone wolf days I use to enjoy sniping on MW2, got away from it in BLOPS except when playing Hazard and now that Liberation has come out I want to give it another try.
Right now I am using:
.50 Cal with kick FMG with Akimbo Blind Eye Pro Assassin Pro Marksman Pro Bouncing Betty/Flash
I have some success, I am rocking a 1.57 KDR, but that is with only 69 kills. The problem I am having with this load out is that I move SO damn slow, so slow in fact that most of the time I don't bother moving much. I have no interest in quickscoping, but I don't want to be anchored to only one spot, ideally I would like to move from one sniper perch to another (right now I feel anchored to the gazebo on Liberation because it takes me 20 minutes to move 100 feet with that damn .50 Cal)...
So all you sniper experts out there, what kind of class would you suggest for a Noob hardscoper and why? Thanks! |

| @ level 18 you get speed. Put it on and watch how fast you go. |

| Vegas...would you recommend that I stick with the .50 Cal until I hit level 18 then? |

| It's pretty realistic that they make you move slowly with the barrett. The gun alone weighs 40 pounds, and if you're carrying 20 rounds, add another 15. Do you run like an SMG with the speed proficiency? |

| I thought I was going to break my controller the other night because I was pushing so hard on those damn thumb sticks trying to get out of the open space that the game spawned me in... |

| I would say if you're liking the Semi Auto, then yes stick with the Barrett, nothing compares in the semi auto world. |

| How about perks? And does a silencer eliminate the OHK ability of the .50 cal? |

| I would not put a silencer on the barrett. If you do the only 1 shot kills you will get are headshots. I personally run this :
L118A/Extended mags with Speed. Sleight of hand (For quick weapon swaps) Quickdraw Pro(Quickscoping) Marksman Pro(Self Explanatory)
Flash with a throwing knife. |

| Gotta say, I avoided sniping in black ops...I didn't have mw2, but had the Barrett in an Infected match a few weeks ago and decided next time I prestiged (sp?) I would at least give the Barrett a whirl in gameplay. I am only up to 7 kills, but am following this thread to spy on sniping tips.
Best part of this clan so far, in my opinion, has been the information sharing. Thanks, guys.

| Vegas - I am still finding my way (a lot of 10 kill games) and I am only sniping on Liberation with randoms right now. But I did have a 15-5 game the other night while hardscoping from the gazebo, the other team kept rushing me from the river bed so I just sat there picking them off...the rage mics were funny as hell...
It is a fun change of pace when I am running lone wolf |

| I just started useing steady aim instead of marksman pro and I have to say I like it better. Not to be better at no scoping cause I will still miss about 9/10 shots when I try but because it makes your white aim hashes closer to gether. Allowing you to zoom in quicker on an area. I have been trying to work on my sniping and there is about 5 maps I will start with it. But then switch to a try hard class if need be cause its a close match. |

It is a fun change of pace when I am running lone wolf Jem, heres the maps I ALWAYS snipe on. Its easy if you're HS or QSing. Lockdown/Bakarra/Liberation. Try em out im sure you'll do great. Check it out. Let me know how it goes. |

| If you try to QS right away you'll probably get frustrated. Try drag-scoping at first, where you ADS close to center and drag it to head/center mass and fire. That works pretty well and it's an easy progression to quick scoping from there.
Me personally, I run the MSR (not everyone likes bolt action).
In HC modes, it's MSR - Attachments - Silencer/Heartbeat Monitor. In Core Modes, it's MSR - Impact - Extended Mags. Secondary - pick one, I like MP9 silenced.
Frag/Throwing Knife and Tac Insert.
SoH Pro QD Pro Marksman Pro OR Steady Aim Pro/Stalker Pro if you're going to be mobile.

Those are imperative. As you work your way across the field, pick up a gun on the floor for your second weapon. That helps me a lot when i attempt to snipe.

| If you like the semi-auto gun as I so the RSASS is very similar to the Barrett but aloes you to run faster, the .50 is such a heavy gun you run like a turtle. |

| The problem with the RSASS is the low damage and multipliers - it's headshots or nothing. If you slap a silencer on it, it takes two shots to kill anywhere on the body, without the silencer it's headshots or bust (versus the Barrett .50, L118 and MSR all being OHKs from the stomach up, i.e. as long as you don't hit someone in the leg or arm, they're doornails).
The plus to the RSASS is it's great for HC modes AND it has the largest amount of starting ammunition, so hey, trade-offs. If you want a large clip and you like irritating people instead of killing them (in CORE) the RSASS is a solid bet. |

Well it really goes to preference between those two, the stats are virtually identical. Check this page out it has all of the Sniper Rifle stats. Sniper Rifle Stats |

| Vegas, where are your sniping spots on Lockdown? I almost always run with an SMG or AR on that map. I can only try sniping on Hardhat & Resistance. Haven't played much of Liberation. I usually try them at the beginning of the match on Dom and run assault - UAV, Care Package, Predator. Last week I changed though and ran with my M4A1 and in the first 2 minutes I had 3 preds between kill streaks and packages....the real pisser is that I didn't get a single kill with the predators. |

| Sniping spots on Lockdown are this for me : A SPAWN : Staircase on the left side of A. End of the long Hall looking out towards the C line directly outside of B. This location is the best one if you can hold it, it gives a clear view of all the chokepoints, the one coming out of C going to b and the other choke coming from C going all the way to the right. I would give pics but Elite is being stupid as usual will try to post pics later.
C Spawn.
All the way to the right down the tunnel, gives a clear of B and the staircase mentioned on the A spawn. From C go into the building and camp the windows. If you do this I would recommend a portable radar the windowed rooms are grenade prone and people are going to infilitrate you in there real easily. |
