442 x30x Members

As you may have noticed we are down to 442 members on the forum. At one point we had 750. We have trimmed the herd quite a bit, whether it was because people left or they were deleted because of inactivity. Black Ops 2 will bring a new influx of members to our site looking for people to play with, and I am fine with that just as I have always been.

I just ran a report and 218 of our members do not have over 10 posts since they have been here. This may be because they are just inactive in the forums or because they are new. As we move forward into Black Ops 2 and whatever other games we play I want to continue to make sure that we are made up of active members.

Usually the people that are most active on the forums are the most active in the game. This is not a guarentee but is a pretty good rule.

At the end of the year I may suggest that anyone that has less than 10 posts and has been here for atleast 30 days be removed from the forums and the rosters so that we can keep an active member base.

Of course I will leave the purge list open to objections, and I will send out an email to all current members so that they know what is up. That way they can get their post count up to 10 if they want to stay with us.

What do you guys think about that?

I think that's a good idea minus the grandfathered no posters of course.

Once BLOPS 2 comes out, we'll get a better idea of who is actually active. Those that are active in the game but not meeting their post quota can be looked at on an individual basis. This might be true of a lot of the FNG's that join in November but haven't gotten in their 10 posts by the end of the year.

Sounds good to me. I know once I got in here and really started posting and paying attention and getting involved was when more people started recognizing my name and I was getting into more lobbies, etc. It's a good rule to have, especially in a clan this size. Keeps everything somewhat organized.

This is why I will purge with the new year and not with the release of BO2. That gives some of the less actives a chance to speak up and participate.

Purge Purge Purge! What is the point of being in the clan if you are not A) playing with people who are in the clan or B) Making an ass out of yourself in the forums!

Sounds good to me too. 10 post isn't unreasonable, I've been inactive myself for a while as i wait for the funds for a new PS3, and although it doesn't seem like it to me i've already posted 18 times...well 19 now

I'd better get posting then. First account was deleted in error so better get posting on this one to get the count up. Shouldn't be to hard. lol Always good to clean house makes for a happy home.

I agree with the purge, if i am able to get on and stay current with the happenings of the clan in a war zone (Afghanistan)..there is no reason the people on the couch cant login ...

Sounds good to me also. With the mass PM, everyone was "put on notice". 10 posts is not too much to ask for.

Well, I don't post much, but I know I have more than 10 posts now. However I'm very active online and participate in clan tourneys. But I will try and get on more often to post. Sad, I'm on the computer all day, but just don't have the time, plus been extremely busy the last month. Thanks for the warning

Ummm, is this a jab at me?

442 members sounds like a ton, couldn't believe there were 750 previously!

I think purging is good if inactive for an extended period w/o posting or playing.

Just in the last 6 weeks since I joined I have noticed about 20 people that I have played with quite a bit and have really had a great time playing with them. I hope it continues like this for a long time as I am having a great time with everyone (even Barney if you can believe that!!! J/K!!)

As a side note if I'm on and playing without my headset, that's only because my wife is in the same room and she doesn't like it if she can't hear the game and talk. She'll go in to another TV room and watch shows on the dvr if I'm using them and for the most part if she wants to sit out with me and watch me play and listen to you guys talk trash (which could be a whole other conversation!!) - I'm happy to have her on the couch next to me even if she does doze off sometimes from the excitement....

I was thinking it might make sense to purge BEFORE Black Ops 2 comes out, that way the new guys won't be (potentially) adding inactives? It does mean only a month and a half warning, but really, shouldn't that be enough?

Besides, if you post the list, I think enough people know who's active online but not on the forum right? Just a thought.

Yes, I guess I never commented the first time..lol But ya, cleaning up do to inactivity is a good thing. Especially if they are never on or don't respond to invites at all! Why be in a clan if your going to ignore people from your clan???
