This could be a huge prank but I just read a tweet that disney has the aquired the rights to Lucas film and will realeaseing VII in 2015. so many emotions of this if this is true.

Maybe we can finally get the original films (Ep IV-VI) in their theatrical release.

This is awesome! Never thought I'd see another Star Wars trilogy. Now it's just 3 years away and not written or directed by Lucas! Can they go back in time and also redo Eps 1-3...maybe too much to wish for. Only downside is its Disney so hopefully it won't be too skewed to a young audience, although they've done alright with Marvel.

Since it doesn't fall into their Disney characters, I'm sure the stories will be sufficiently "not young". They did Pirates too, right? And those were pretty good.

I see no reason to believe that with the fantastic job they have done with Marvel that Lucas Films will be any different. I mean come on a Clone Wars Pixar flick? tthat is awesome to think about. The only drAW back is going to be Family Guy no longer making fun of star wars

Good or bad, at least we'll have something to talk about for the next 10 years. Hard to believe that a series that riveted me when I was four is still keeping me interested at forty.

I think it is going to be a good thing, considering how well they have handled the Marvel deal and how good the Avengers was. I know I have been dying for years to see the next three episodes in the saga, and I think the timing is perfect with all of the technological advances in film making. The stories can be told as they were intended to be and a new generation of Star Wars fans can keep the series alive.

I am very excited and can't wait to see what they do!

if I'm Disney I set it up like cod have companys workering on it so they each could pump one out every 3 years making so we get a star wars. movie every year and a half.

I've a number of friends that work for the mouse as well as friends that work for Uncle George, and they're all unanimously excited for the prospects.

I'm a loser, I'm so excited.

This is going to be awesome. Been a long time coming.

They are also recruiting amazing screen writers some of which have already worked on the movies (the originals) to bring it to life. They have also talked about Spin offs of stand alone characters, such as a Boba Fett movie etc. hnnnnngh i have such a nerd boner right now i am going to have to go watch the dark knight trilogy to blow my nerd load.

It is rumored that he is doing some spin off titles that they are working on. However I have also read upon my internet trolling that he is working on episode 8. we will see where the chips fall. Oh, and directors....spielberg has stated he is interested in working on a star wars movie, so its a grab bag of what will happen lol
