So I bought a new headset because my old headset was having issues. I decided to buy the best headsets Best buy could offer; the turtlebeach PX5 (Wireless). I had to go wireless because the wires get on my nerves.
The headset cost me 249.00 and at that price I expected these things to cook me dinner or take care of the kids at least. Realistically I expected the sound to be at least great. I got it all set up and I could not help but notice the crack, snap and pop the headset made when I played the game. The sound would cut out approximately every 10 seconds, disappear of a couple minutes and come back. I placed the headset in a different room/TV and got the same results. I suspected interference from all the electronic equipment I have in the room.
I thought my PX21 headset sounded better than PX5. I tried the headsets on both systems and decided to take them back. I got another pair of PX21, which cost 100 dollars less and sound great.
For the most part the PX5 has several feature that make it worth 249.00. You can answer cellphone calls on your headset. Connect to you PC and regulate the sound of footsteps Vs Gun fire. I really don't care if I can't hear enemy footsteps while playing the game when i can't hear the game because of the sound cutting out, but whatever. And I don't have the need to answer phone calls while I playing online.
Wireless technology is not there yet, and the PX5 comes with a lot of interference. I can't wait for any company to come out with a true wireless headset for gamers. Fo rnow I'm happy with my PX21.
