Is there a place for a sniper in DOM games? Ive always been a rusher so its gonna take some time but im sticking with this so any help would be great!

Ah my fellow comrade, you have chosen well. Snipers on Dom? OH HELL YES. I personally think each team should at least have one. Post up if thats what you like to do. About those vids you watched im pretty sure you watched some dude get some crazy ass kills right? Just forget all about that because that takes alot of time and practice to get up to that level of quickscoping. If you're new to sniping try sticking by B and hardscoping. Over time you should move over to drag scoping (Pulling the center scope to the target quickly) Once again takes time and practice. I personally dont camp when I snipe I rush because I can QS and dragscope so Im all over the map the entire game. My Setup : L118A Extended Mags With Speed ( remember I said I rush? This helps alot. I can run like I have an AR. Soh Pro, fast weapon swaps just in case I need to switch Quickdraw Pro ( For the quickscopes) Marksman Pro (Self Explantory) Flash/Throwing Knife Im glad to see some other people sniping now. Ive been sniping predominately since 3rd prestige and kept my ratio above 1 and still rising, just keep at it and gain some confidence with your new found friend. Hope this helps Delta. Vegas |

If you want to change your sensitivity to a higher setting do it slowly. Like since you're at 2 try three for a day or two and them move up to 4 and so on and so on. I keep mine at 3 because thats what Im used to and it hasnt let me down yet. |

| I'm at a 6 sensitivity.
The L118 is my weapon of choice although you cant go wrong with that or the Barrett. I find the unlock rifles are all worse.
I usually run the penetration or extended mag options and Quickdraw is a must in the world of quick scoping.
QS'ing is all about timing and rhythm and honestly each QS should be the exact same. The instant you see the black of the scope while zooming in, shoot. You also have to work on drag scoping while zooming in as the aim assist isn't what it was in MW2 or Black Ops. |

| What about running Overkill with an AR or something? Would you suggest that? That way I could pull out the sniper when I feel comfortable doing so? Or maybe throw Akimbo MP9s, with QD pro SoH and Marksman...
I've never been very confident with my sniping ability....this thread could help me out a bit! |

Well your on the Xbox so you have more map options then we have so you get an extra. Definitely snipe on liberation. Bakaara - C Spawn By the truck. Prone by the tires and look underneath the truck. Or stand by it. NEVER EVER GO IN THE PICKUP PART. Bakaara - A Spawn - By the overturned vehicle or in the little niche on the left. Resistance - A Spawn - Tshirt shop. Stay there dont let them bastards touch B. Resistance - C Spawn - The staircase overlooking B. If they have a sniper in the Tshirt shop its sniper vs sniper. Be quicker than him/her. Lockdown - C Spawn - Down the furthest tunnel that looks directly at B and has a clear shot to the choke point from A Spawn. Lockdown - A Spawm - Start at the window that looks directly down the tunnel to thier C Spawn and patrol the two other windows that looks at thier building with the windows where people like TI camp. Patrol these spots as people will try to flank you here. I snipe on almost all the maps save hardhat/dome. So this should get you going. Vegas |

It's smart of you to ask for advice. The safest place to be, when you hopped into the match on the other team, was directly in front of you lol! |

| Deep down I am a sniper at heart. I use the Barrett with SOh, Quickdraw pro, and marksman. Quickdraw is a must b/c it speeds up the animation of the scope rising. As a secondary, use a machine pistol when you are moving from place to place until you get used to QS. I get a few no scopes b/c I get randumbs that surprise me. To no scope with a Barrett place the randumb in the middle of the TV screen and shoot like crazy. My advice is avoid Overkill b/c you can’t use Quickdraw with it equipped. Also use a betty or claymore. | |

| I have 2 sniper classes right now: L118 w/extended mags impact - will switch for stability when unlocked pp90m1 SOH pro - faster reloading OverKill - 2 primaries Stdy aim pro - Gun ready faster after sprinting Specialist Quk Draw Pro - switch weapons faster Scavenger - Replenish ammo Marksman - Recognize people easier L118 w/ext mags impact - will switch for stability when unlocked stinger SOH pro - faster reloading Quk Draw Pro - switch weapons faster Stdy aim pro - Gun ready faster after sprinting Support UAV CUAV My games with the sniper are getting better and better. I went 30-11 last night on Dome with the sniper and I've only been using the Sniper for about 3 days now. Everyone complains about snipers/quick scoping especially if they can't do it. I still complain about it and I'm trying to learn how to do it. Games from last night.

| that's some nice games the1, i got into two games with you last nite before you got out, saw you running around with the sniper rifle. i like to snipe too, but wasn't sure it would fit into the domination gameplay with the clan. but seeing that there are a few clannies in here that are trying to learn to snipe, i might try it a little more. i want to be able to help cap flags, and protect the objectives without jepordizing the team winning the match. i'm gonna try it out tonite, and see what happens.
and jx vegas702 that was some great info for the loadouts and sniping spots, i hear alot of the guys complain about the sniping, myself included, but i believe too that it's because we're not really great at it, we put it down, but i realize that it really takes work to be skillful at it, especially qs which i am trying to learn. i guess i'll just keep at it.

| I've been running one a ton this prestige too. Got the MSR maxed out and also the L118. Next prestige I'll try two of the other guns. I still haven't successfully quickscoped on a consistent basis but I am getting better dragging and faster on the trigger with a hard scope. I find it alot of fun in Hardcore when they have no clue where you shot them from. |

Thank you lol overkill helps me in the smaller areas of maps, if you get caught with just your sniper and theres 4 guys rushing you in those tight spots your gonna die unless your a Quick Scope master lol

| I personally think Overkill is a waste of time.
You lose out on Assassin or Quick Draw (critical for quick scoping) and lets be honest, there are weapons littered about the field you can just swap out with your secondary.
You see a guy at long range, switch to your sniper, take a shot...then a guy comes close and switching to your assault rifle is gay because you will die. You take the QS attempt. You either die or kill him.
If you kill him, you realise you might be able to quick scope and never pull out your assault rifle again.
Or you stay on your assault rifle as you're more comfortable with it, see at guy at long range, wait for the weapon animation to switch to the sexy L118 aaaaand, the guy is gone.
But again, really it's because to me you can always pick up a weapon off the ground to replace your secondary.
I personally try to run...
L118 + extended mags Stinger (should be clan law, dual pistols don't take out air-rape support) any grenades
Sleight of Hand or Blind Eye Quick Draw Marksman |
