| Ok this may be a controversial topic but i was hoping to get a little clarification on what you guys consider camping. Ok, what happened was........ Playing on the rubble strewn L.A. map (sorry i don't know the name yet) i found a nice little hidey hole one story up in a bombed out car park. Perfect for me and my trusty sniper rifle. It's a great spot with two holes in the walls giving a good view for some nice long range shots. So i spent about 4-5 mins in this location and in doing so i managed to level up my rifle a couple of times (dying twice in the process ) Now i had to keep moving to avoid grenades, and the stairs leading up to my spot are quite exposed, but fairly easily defended. The question is, is this camping? I would argue not as it's a tactic a RL sniper would probably employ (snipers most definately don't run around picking people off at point blank range ) What do you think guys? Am i a dirty dirty camper? |

| I personally find the whole camping thing overblown. Camping IMHO is staying put in one place (room, spot in a hallway etc.) waiting for people to walk past you so you can shoot them in the back. Camping is not IHMO controlling/patrolling a fixed area and killing anyone who enters or crosses your FOV. That is locking down valuable real estate to cut off enemy movement and ensure the members on your team can spend their time focusing on other areas of the map or protecting/capturing an objective. You were sniping... so setting somewhere providing overwatch is just another way of controlling an area of the map. I don't consider that camping... I consider that smart gameplay. It really works when you're communicating with you team and they know your killzone and funnel people into it. | |

| If you are sniping and you did move around from spot to spot I call that working an area! If someone continually goes back to the same spot every time they die especially if it is an objective game like Dom and they end the game with zero caps that's camping and stupid. (The way Dom is set out now with the half time they could get at least two caps). However if you have caps and are playing the objective and then settle into a nice spot for some one hit on kill shots then that is Defending. The same could not be said for TDM more kills less deaths is part of the objective which lends itself to camping. I just do what the flag tells me to do if it say Capture then I Capture if it says Defend then I Defend. (Work an area) Then again who cares if your playing with a team of 30's any part you do goes towards the Team win. If you set up camp and the other team are that bad that they can't flush you out then they deserve to be one shot one kill owned. | |

This! If someone is camping and you don't like it for some reason... remove them with force. If you can't... that's your deal... live with it. That said, i do hate when in a pub and 3 people on your team are sniping, not communicating and getting nothing done... leaving you to capture objectives and get gang'banged the entire match.

| It's not something i do often (i get bored too easily ) i must admit it was a kill confirmed match with a team of randoms. Some did try to flush me out, but the area was large enough to get away from the grenades Lets just call it practice for a DOM game |

| It's camping when the other team does it. When a 30 does it, it's a legitimate strategy. |

| [quote Hey, i'm with ya on that. I love to snipe from time to time in pubs. My routine: I'll pick 3 spots and snipe from them each in random order. One or two kills from the spot-A... then circle around and sprint to spot-B real quick (which overlooks spot-A where i just sniped a few people from). The enemy is angry and heading for spot-A when i pick them off from spot-B... i rinse and repeat and enrage the whole enemy team [/quote] This an excellent example of what I called "Working an Area". Camping is a dirty word and should not be spoken of in public. 1st Rule of camping is we don't talk about camping, 2nd rule of camping……………! | |

Yes! Or when Blackdeath does it....and he does it well! You paid $60 for the game, play however you want! Besides that is what sniping is supp to be. I can't do it because my ADHD won't allow me to stay in one place too long. |

| Sniping is camping, when done right.
I don't have a problem with campers.......as long as.......they aren't just random sniping/camping. At least take up an overwatch position on an objection (like B flag) or have a means to be able to move quickly to where you can assist in covering B......A......whatever.
So....
I say snipe/camp away......after ya cap B with the team and then make sure you are covering a flank or B Flag.
If you are referring to camping in team deathmatch........no such thing. TDM is designed for and rewards campers.
I also don't mind the campy snipers on my team AS LONG AS they are calling in serious killstreaks by halftime.....even if they are ignoring objectives. UAV's and Guardians don't count though......campers should be able to get higher KS's imo. When I decide to camp for killstreaks I move mine up significantly and still manage to get them. I just rarely do that cause I like to rush. |

| Sniping isnt camping when your helping the team, if your just sniping and not helping cap or defend the objective while doing it it could be considered camping. In my opinion if your sniping and theres a good line of sight/ overwatch posisition for the B flag theres nothing more helpful than a sniper making life miserable for the other team than getting picked off while trying to cap or keep us from capping than some one whos good with the sniper rifle. I know for sure that I atleast appreciate the sniper on maps like drone, raid and slums because they have helped me secure the flag numerous times. |

youmotherfuckinghypocrite! I expect several apologies in the near future lol Maybe it was your team play during the clan op! I almost thought you had someone else playing for you! As far as an apology........Well, you can just keep waiting for that! |

| Call it whatever you want, if someone is playing a dom match to improve their k/d and ignoring flags, I don't want them on my team. I don't understand people sometimes, it isn't like Treyarch forgot to put tdm in the game and they have no other choice. |

| I think if i was playing with the clan it would be different but i was on a kill confirmed game and wanted to try out the sniper rifle BTW i have unlocked the second sniper rifle now, it's a one shot kill beast, i love it! I had a couple of good matches last night with it, i have taken overkill with it and carry an MP7 to run and gun, the sniper is there for those very satisfying longshots I must say when playing on a team of randoms, if i see lots of snipers i switch to an assualt rifle class, last night i saw three snipers all huddled together in the same window! |

| Some call it camping I call it defensive tactics. Not every soldier or unit runs around willy nilly in RL why would it change in BO2 |

| yeah sounds like you were holding down an area not just hiding waiting for someone to run by...i personally am a run and gun guy but always run the same routes (usually the higher traffic areas) in every map...everyone plays different just use what works best for you and who cares what anyone else says | |

| If someone is "camping", then it's because you're not rushing hard enough.
There's no such thing as camping. If the enemy knows where you are, and they're unable to remove you from your position, then that's their problem.
