How are you managing to play CoD 4 online?

So I picked up CoD4 for like $10 as it was considered to be the best of the series (debatable against WaW). I also loved it on the Wii except for the Wii controls.

Problem is that the online doesn't work! I get the main screen with a "Confirm Yes/No" with the X button at the bottom and hitting X does nothing. I have to hit the PS button and shut the game down.

I've read that it might have been a recent PSN update while some say Activision is blaming the disc, although offline it boots perfectly fine for single player.

The fix seems to be to unplug my router, get into the game, go to multiplayer option and then plug my router back in.

How is anyone playing this? Granted not many seem to.

I dont have yet. It should get here on thursday. Convine the wife tobuy me 4-6 in the cod serris for valentines day. I saw skell playing it the other night but that might have been before the last update

Funny thing, I actually played this yesterday for the first time in a couple of years. I got online with no problems.
