Elite status... What now?

I've finally made up my mind to get elite tomorrow. But I've been hearing that it's not worth it. I would like to get in on clan ops and play new maps and all that good stuff but what are the benefits of elite out side of those two things? Ups? Downs? Plz discuss.

I like elite. I was a beta tester for Elite and then I bought it after the beta test. Getting the maps for free is a plus. The Clan Ops are ok. It's always fun to play with your fellow clan members in the Clan Ops. Having elite levels up your clan whenever you play so you can get new emblems.

I think its worth it just for the maps. But I like the maps, alot of guys don't. I am a variety kinda guy. I also like all the stat stuff it provides. But I think u can get that from the free version. Ur points only count for clan ops if ur a paid member. That stuff is fun too. But the later the clan op is in the day the more u run into boosters and total douche bags. Overall I would have given it a C - at the beginning. Now a solid B. And its getting better I think.

elite is good for the DLC drops - the actual "service" in regards to stats, groups, etc fucking blows...worst website ever

The DLC maps are the biggest plus, but I do enjoy Friday Night Fights. It just makes me mad that the Red Shoe Rebels were on it, and we haven't had anyone yet. Maybe we need to contact them.

Maps are the only benefit I see. Like BD said, the website sucks ass. And I think the PS3ers really get shafted on the DLC drops a month late.

Maps and that is about it. It's a piss poor site and UI. Not really sure what they are trying to accomplish with Elite outside of collecting some extra cash and expanding the overall brand, which I actaully think is waning a bit. Wish they had used the resources and money they must have and are putting into the Elite and related branding/advertising (Cocked Hammers, etc.) to make the actual MW3 gameplay better. One concern I have is that they are going to eventually try to horn in on or try to control the activity/purpose of clan sites like this one...in making clans themselves (in addition to the Elite clan ops) a billable service.
