| I talked to some guys in the lobby last night about a recent issue with my headset. Yesterday when I got on and plugged them in as normal, only thing coming through my headset was chat. Game was coming through my TV. Someone mentioned my settings, the power did go out at some point during the week, I'm wondering if a certain setting got screwed up. I've never had this problem before since owning these or when the power has gone out. My sound setting was set to HDMI. |

| I'm still new to PS3 but there was another setting besides "sound" I think it was called devices or something. I had to go in there and select something specific for my Astros. Its under the settings tab. Probably not much help but its a start

| OK I found this:
For chat you need to go to settings, go to accessory settings, then to audio device settings and for input and output device, select the turtle beach headset.
That's what I was looking for.

| I thought it was only me. This has been happening randomly to me lately. |

| Yeah slam, my audio device is set to my turtle beach headset. I'll try changing the sound settings from HDMI when I get home tonight. I'll let you know if I figure anything out Vegas. The reason I'm stumped is as far as I can tell, all my settings are exactly the same as they have always been. I do have the infamous busted ear piece taped together, maybe the wires are screwed. |

| Same thing happened on my. I could only hear chat and no game sounds. Somehow the settings on my ps3 changed so I went back and basically went through the install process again. I pulled out the directions and unplugged everything and started from scratch. I forget what changed, but after it was done it was good to go. | |

| Same here...I have no idea why but once every month or two the settings on my PS3 just seem to change for no reason and I have to whip out the directions and redo the settings. Fixes it every time. |

| Ok I got it fixed. Under the settings/sound settings/audio output settings in the PS3 menu, somehow it got changed from Audio Input Connector/SCART/AV Multi to HDMI. Don't ask me how, I never touched it. That fixed it anyway. |

Glad you figured it out. From what I know about HDMI, your compenents have to recognize and "hand shake" with each other kinda like USB so maybe when your power went out, your PS3 didn't see your tv so it defaulted back to the SCART connection.
