MK14 Tips

What's up clanmates? I just started using the MK14 and really like playing with it. I never thought I'd like using a semi-auto as much as I do this gun. So much so, that I haven't really been using other weapons, even though I may have done a little better with a different weapon choice. Im getting much better at using it and do well overall. I was just wondering if anyone else like to use this gun and has some recomendations on attatchments, perks, strategies on using the rifle, ect.?

I like kick, thermal or acog and marksman. I hated that gun untill I actually gave it a chance it rocks

I used to love it (I go though phases). Overall I think it is solid and for some it is awesome. I used it more as a medium to long stalking class.

- Marksman (distance) /or/ Stalker (closer, aggressive)

> MP9 with red-dot as secondary
> Stun Grenades
> Claymore

With this set up I would a lot of moving sniping (run then couch, or crawl then run again). Usually setting a claymore behind as I stalked from A to point B. Sometimes I would use the MP9 (which rocks) and basically run with it as a sub-machine gun and if an op presented itself at a distance switch to the MK14.

I run it several different ways:

Focus, RDS
Attachments, Silencer, RDS
I also like it with thermal for picking off snipers on Black Box or Foundation.

Marksman is highly recommended.

I have gotten it to gold 3 times, so I'm a big fan. I have put it down for a couple prestiges to try other things (mostly M16).

I use the MK14 most of the time. Use kick and silencer on it if you put a a piece of tape or something that sticks to the center of your tv screen with a small dot it is like having a red dot also without equiping one. I shoot from the hip quite a bit and win most gun battles because it is a one or two shot kill most of the time.

My set up for the MK14 is this:
Silencer and Impact
Blindeye
Quickdraw
Marksman (aim for the centre of the name, just below the letters, don't even need to see the person)
C4 and radar

I run lower kill streaks even though it is accurate I still spam it a bit much. UAV, CP, pred airstrike.

I too use it on long range maps or when I don't plan to move very much. Bakaara, Lockdown, Village, Fallen etc.

I just picked it up again this weekend with the double weapon XP....probably used it for 3-4 hours and got it to level 25 (sometimes I would snipe or shotgun on the random map if things weren't going well).

I like Attachments with Rapid Fire and some type of scope....possibly the thermal or the Hybrid (just unlocked). I don't know if the Rapid Fire makes a difference but it seems like it to me. I have this on my Assault class and got 1 Reaper last night and was bitch smacked by a flashband when I was one kill away from another. (this may sound like no big deal but for the first 8 months I didn't run Assault streaks and I usually max out at a care package on my streaks). I think the 1-2 hit kill is the secret.

I would have to agree with using Marksman on this or even Steady Aim. Equipped with Blind Eye Pro probably be able to take down a chopper in no time.

Added: Of all the guns (excluding snipers rifles and shotties), this gun is my highest accuracy at 19%. Only thing better is the Riot Shield at 10,933%. Riot Shield FTW!!! (why can't you gold that thing??)

I'm with you oldschool on the rapid fire...at first I thought it couldn't matter on a semi-auto, but it does...I'm a big fan of the rapid fire/acog combo or RF/silencer...obviously I always run attachments. For perks, I roll marksman and any other two you like...

Been using this gun for this past prestige. I use it as my sniper gun. I run acog scope with a silencer. Perks are soh, overkill,( I run a mp7 as my secondary) and last perk is marksmen. Specialist package with ass, dead silence, and scavenger.

I love the MK14. I usually run it with Impact and RDS or ACOG.
Perks will be Extreme Conditioning, Quick Draw or Assassin, and Marksman.

Impact + Suppressor

SoH Pro (for fast weapon swap to my silenced mp9 in CQB)
Assassin Pro
Marksman

I never use opticals, so a red dot or acog might be more to your liking. Two shot kills with a suppressor = win.
