Subject: Black Genetics? Fri Dec 07, 2012 3:51 pm
I got a picture of this buck last year. He was a scrawny basket rack buck. Notice the black on the legs. I first thought that he was hit by a car and the black was dried blood on the legs. A few weeks later I started to see a black doe down the road from this spot. So I assumed that maybe he had some of the black genetics from her.
I just started getting pictures of this buck. Is it possible that this is the same buck? Or is this another buck with the same type markings? Is this due to black genetics? Or are these bucks walking through something that is dying their hair black?

It looks like mud or something they walked thru. Those two bucks are different. the first doesn't have any black on this back left leg and the second does. Is there a muddy spring, or marshy area near by?
