mw3 good or bad?

I have been watching some you tube videos and researching mw3 and there seems to be some real concern about a few of the "improvements" to COD mw3. I posted a poll...at least I think I did.. Vote on what u think could potentially be a problem in mw3

Don't get me wrong I am SO excited about the new stuff in mw3, proficiencies, cod elite, but I feel that we are still gonna have a lot of the same issues from previous games.

If I did the poll right vote for what u think will be OP in mw3.

Knifing for me


Being able to instantly lunge across a room through a hail of bullets and buckshot kill me and carry on unscathed really pisses me off.

I used to get annoyed with quick scoping but it's part of the game now and you have to adjust and accept.

I agree with the knife lunge but I feel that at close range I should not be at a disadvantage to a sniper rifle when I have a smg

I chose perk-setup, since I'm pretty sure that they made some OP classes which in combination with kill/death streaks will unbalance the game.

The ones that even when you watch the kill cam were miles off target yet still kill you are one of the most annoying too


I agree, you shouldnt be disadvantaged at close range, blops got the snipers right for me

I think the snipers in blops were right on as well compared to mw2 where everyone and their mom ran intervention with SoH

I played some MW2 with Colby the other night and I gotta say, quick scopers were the most annoying! Every game atleast 2-3 of them on both teams! Drove me fucking nuts, the tubers don't bother me nearly as much, infact, I don't recall being killed by a tube once that night.

I think in mw3 they are gonna decrease the mobility on snipers. This may help some. So now they will move as fast as an lmg not as fast as a smg.

Went with perk set up. There are a few combinations that will be overly used I think.

I didn't even mention the support point streaks that don't reset after you die! I think this will be OP as well

What about specialist? i think that will be overpowered. i voted qs, it is annoying, and shouldnt be in game IMO, but there will definatly be soom OP loadouts/weapons/killsteaks too i think.

As Black Ops is my first CoD I cant comment on quickscoping machine gun pistols and pretty much everything else on that list, BUT I can comment on Panic Knifing. There's nothing more annoying than putting rounds into some dude who goes rambo on you and runs thru your bullets and puts a knife into you. I honestly wish they would make the knife a two hit kill instead of a one or make it so you have to equip the knife at least.

I voted for quickscoping because I think it's a mistake if IW makes it as easy as it was in MW2. It does take some skill to learn but it shouldn't be that easy to point blank kill someone with a sniper rifle.

My second pick is definitely the knifing. To me, it should take two frontal knifeshots before you die or you must have at least some damage before you go down to one. If someone is filling you with bullets you shouldn't be able to just get an instakill because you knife them once.

I think the perfect solution to quickscoping is to make the guns unable to be fired unless looking thru the scope. If they give them the same maneuverability as an lmg, this will help a ton. SOH pro and interventions are not a good combination.

In regards to a knife, I think knife lunges should only be possible if it is equipped as a secondary or as an attachment, like a bayonet or tactical knife. If you don't equip it, no knife lunge for you. This makes your decision to equip knife instead of launcher or shotty a lot more interesting.

If you don't equip knife, then you get a simple melee attack like bashing a guy with the rifle butt. Make that a 2 hit kill and all is right in the world.

This knife stuff is not a new idea so I am surprised time and time agin that it has never been fixed/adjusted by 3arc or other developers. I am tired of being panic knifed every time I get close to someone. Apparently if there is shoulder to shoulder contact you deserve to instantly be killed. I also think you should not be able to run into fire, suffer 2 hitmarkers, and then stab someone for the kill. BS. 2 swipes sounds fair to me.

Snipers= hipfire or only shooting when looking down scope. The quickscoping vids seem like BS move to me.

I also voted quickscoping. Like Vegas this is my first COD, so I have nothing else to go on but what I've experienced so far. However, people in BO have already figured out the "down and to the right" QS maneuver effective enough to take me out on a regular basis. I'm afraid MW3 will just make QS more prevalent and easy.

Apparently, the game creators figure that enough people like to QS, and they will not purchase the game if they take it away.

What's this Knife lunge shit? If that's what I think it is...I'll be creating a whole new language while playing MW3. I should apologize in advance to the easily offended...

If they aren't going to fix QSing at least make the snipers 2 hit kills unless scoped in for say 2 seconds.

I realize that mw3 is not intended to be realistic by any stretch of the imagination but why does a smg take three or four bullets or a shogun take two shots when a sniper takes only one in a CQB?

Take away aim assist or no quick ads with snipers. You gotta think this is what COD XP was intended for. Somewhat of a beta test for mw3

A bunch of players get their hands on it make a bunch of videos and posts on forums about it so IW can read them and patch these problems prior to release.

Mark my words there will be a patch to download as soon as you plug this game in Nov 8!

Here is a great demo of the infamous Commando Lunge from MW2...may it never return. You had teams of guys racing around the map with lightweight, Marathon, Commando with Tactical Knife equipped (which made knifing reaction time even faster). It was nonstop knife monkeys. On a close quarters map like Favela you could literally be corner camping and the knife witch would sprint around the corner and knife lunge you as you sprayed 5 rounds of buckshot into him from the AA-12. I think once the animation was initiated, there was a half second or so of invulnerability. It was the 3rd most annoying thing in MW2 behind QS and OMA/DC.

If you want realism, a sniper round like a BMG or Intervention should always be a OSK. It's an unsurvivable wound unless you are just grazed. Any torso shot or limb shot would cause an immediate bleed out due to the sheer force of the round impact.

I agree with all that you said beckville, but I still don't think they will fix it. If anything, the most they will do IMO is make it just like BO.

Any suggestions on an anti-QS class? I can start practicing now...

Commando lunge appears to double the threat range of a knife one hit kill? That looks like how far I have to be from someone for the HS-10 to kill someone. Might as well use the knife…

WOW...that sucks but I used to run commando early on and didn't realize how ridiculous it was. When you panic knife with commando it actually gets you a kill!

Now there is a proficiency that minimizes idle sway of your gun and at least in blops there were no real OP secondaries where as in mw3 you will have machine pistols so ask yourself why would u run a normal pistol when you can run a skorpion secondary which in blops is a primary?

So know when you get close to a sniper and u don't get QSed they can switch to an OP secondary and spray u down
