| This sounds crazy but I had the same problem with my MW3 disk and Missiler told me to rub toothpaste (non-baking soda kind) on it and wipe it off with a soft cloth (till its shiney again) I did that and it worked ever since. Basically it fills any voids/scratches in the disk.

| essentially the toothpaste trick is buffing the disc to try and remove scratches and imperfections
you can simply try soap and water at first and then what slam suggested
i have a disc refinishing machine that can start off quite harsh and work its way to buffing it smooth and shiny however even with all that i still had a wii disc that would not come back to life
if / when you do get it to read id highly recommend attempting to install the game local to the xbox
if you wanted to get shady you could buy a used copy at gamestop and swap discs lol they have guaranteed play policy they'll just send it out and get it refinished

| maybe i need to be more specific, it won't read any of his game disk, he is limited to playing only digital games. not sure if it's something internal like a dirty lens. | |

| I have an xbox that does the samething I bought a new lense and tried installing it without successfully getting it working again. It is not that difficult to replace the laser but I must have done something wrong when desoldering the replacement lense. | |

| The easiest way to repair the Xbox without all kinds of hassle is try to find out what DVD-ROM drive the Xbox has. Then go out and buy the same make and model DVD-ROM do not worry you will not have to "FLASH" the drive or Xbox to get this to work. In order to avoid the flashing step is to remove the old PCB board from the original drive and put it on the new drive. This tricks the Xbox into thinking that its the same drive. The easiest way to tell which drive it is can be found here: http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/Xbox_360_DVD_Drive_Comparison.htmThen you can go on youtube and find the proper way to fix it for which drive you have. | |

| My son had this problem a couple of weeks ago. I bought a DVD lens cleaner disc. He hasnt had any problems since. Might be worth a try for a $2 before buying new dvd drive. | |

How exactly do you do this. My son's Halo 4 game got a crack in the center from removing it from the case. Those limited edition cases suck for trying to get them out.

| All these suggestions are legit. It may be just as easy to find a used or broken system cheap and swap the drives. If you are still having a prob based on the date of the post. |
