There's so many codes.... and even after putting in the 88th code, we still need another 32 codes to unlock the VBI Operative title

This game looks a lot like a love child between Gears and Halo based on promo videos. I have PS3(don't use it much) and Xbox, what system are you guys getting it for?

I only have the PS3 for now, probably getting an xbox when the next gen comes out

I'll be honest, haven't had time to get on to download the beta... I know... I only have a couple more days. I'll download it tonight, and I'll let you know tomorrow.

Ok, I signed up for the xbox beta and I got my invite this morning. Turns out the invite was for the PC. I am hoping they send the beta key for the console tonight so I can get the download going for tomorrow's launch.

Who else is planning to do the beta? Would be nice to run this with others to get a good feel for it

Thanks again for the codes. Actually had a chance to play this last night. Once you get used to the 3rd person-over-the-shoulder view, it's actually not that bad. I haven't ventured in to the actual online multiplayer yet, but there is an option for 16v16 in one of the game modes. There's some kind of clan connection in the game, not sure how it works though as I have not played long enough to access that part. Overall, from what I've seen so far, I'm definitely getting this game... looks like it would a good change from COD.

I personally am getting it for the co op. I can easily get several people to play the co op with me and am looking forward to it.

i got my code today and im half done with the 5gb download!

I have played a couple of hours today and I really like it. 3rd person doesn't bother me a bit so that transition isn't difficult. There is no doubt that this is a beta version. Not a pre-relase demo with beta stamped on it, but a beta with a bunch of kinks to iron out. Seeing through that it is really cool. They only released 2 area of the world and those thing areas are really big. If you have played Red Dead Redemption, the co-op campaign feels a lot like that. You are thrown into a wide open world and you can follow the missions with anyone. Example: I go to a start point of a mission and get to the way point. I start the mission and as soon as bullets start flying and couple of other people happen by and jump in it with me. In another instance, I am heading to another mission and i pass by one I did previously and I see a person down. I jump off my ATV, go revive them and blast a few monsters then go back to my story. Pretty cool stuff

Has anybody else tried playing this on xbox? I downloaded beta last night and started playing this afternoon some...WTF?!?! Maybe its playing better on the PS3, but buttons didn't work, or there was a long delay, couldn't shoot or change weapons at times. Enemies didn't die when their health was depleted. I many times couldn't get on, or off the ATV. The list is so long I don't even know where to start.
It'd be hard to believe that they'd have this fixed before Apr 2.
While I've never been involved in a beta test before, but two weeks before launch date I did expect it be at least be playable with little glitches now and then, but this is crazy. I don't think I'll be pre-ordering anything here.

Maybe its a server issue and they'll get the kinks worked out this week, I'll keep trying now and then this week, but from my perspective this isn't looking good. The way its playing now why would anyone playing the beta have any faith in a good finished product in two weeks. I feel very sorry for the programmers at Trion, its going to be two weeks without sleep to try and save this thing.


Update:

Out of curiosity I went to check the community forums for Defiance and the Beta test forum. Apparently the PS3 beta is performing MUCH better than the xbox one. All comments and feedback in the xbox forum reflect the same things I saw, while the PS3 forum is pretty benign and supportive. Might have to consider getting this one on the PS3, because I don't know if they'll be able to fix the xbox one in two weeks.

I have the same issues as well. I'm not too worried about it. There seems to be significant portions that are missing from the game. When I see dialog placeholders for SFX, that tells me this isn't close to the finished product

my guess is that the PC version will be released in April with no issues whatsoever, but since this is basically a PC game being ported to xbox and ps3 there's going to be issues with the game, hopefully none of them are serious enough to cause major problems. I have the beta for PS3 and the only issues I've really had are completely normal for a beta, SFX missing and video cuts that are way out of sync, a couple "friendlies" that show up as enemies.

They just shut the xbox servers down for the next hour to make a bunch of much needed changes.

I played it some yesterday again, and its playing MUCH better than day one. Now its playing a little more like I expected out of a beta, with floating vehicles, missing audio and dialouge and some system crashes(especially during the big arkfalls). But I think it has a lot of promise. I thought that the players on mulitplayer actually had to compete(shoot each other) for the rewards of an arkfall, but you can't damage other players at all. In fact many don't even exit their vehicles and run over all the creatures. Which is kind of lame.
