Subject: El Gato HD questions Wed May 15, 2013 9:23 pm
So I broke down and got one last week and I have a few questions.
How do you guys have it set up to record game chat? Do you use a 2nd mic or have it set up through a separate mixamp? I have TB PX21.
More technical, when I click the record button the file is saved as an MP4. When I render through the software it comes out MP4. But if I don't record, the files that the flashback recording saves them as an MPEG-2 TS file. When I use those files in Vegas the audio file is not there. If I open it up in Windows Movie Maker or Media Player it has the audio file along with the video. Is do I need a plugin for Vegas to decode the M2TP file or is there any way to go back in the El Gato software and record/edit/render it?
Thanks in advance, I'll hang up and listen :

Do you have your xbox audio settings set to play gamechat through TV and Headset?
As far as the audio file issue, I have no idea, I'll do some poking.

I don't know how you're recorder works, but with my PVR I have to use the AC3 audio encoder and not AAC, otherwise I get the same thing happening where when I import the file into Vegas the audio doesn't show up. It's under Device Setting for the PVR, not sure where you find it in yours.

Here's all you need to know about El Gato... El Senior Don Gato that is...
From a simpler more pure time when children sang of death, fat chicks, and resurrection. Maybe things haven't changed that much after all.
