I still remember my dad getting drunk sitting in "his" chair yelling at that little TV during football season. To this day I still hate football and especially the eagles.

I loved those 80's shows...I thought A-Team was the height of TV greatness until I saw an old epsidoe on some cable channel and I have to admit that it has NOT aged very wellm but Mr. T was the man...
I watched ALF, Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazard...but where is the love for MASH, Cheers, Growing Pains, Airwolf, Doogie Howser. American Gladiators, the Incredible Hulk and Night Court
+1REP for Airwolf. Lol Night Court too. Reality TV screwed everything up.
Admit it, we all watched the Golden Girls. Three's Company!

In the late 70's and early 80's we only recevied three channels on our antenna (which was on a tall pole behind the house) and if we wanted to change the channel you had to get off the couch and turn that big old dial on the tv and then have someone go outside to twist the pole until the channel came in...
My kids now have no idea how to even turn the tv on if they can't find the remote...
We got 3 channels as well. 3, 6, and 12 and sometines fox 33 but it had lots of static in it. I just threw 2 of those TVs away when my grandfather pasted away. He had a 32" sitting on top of one of them in his house.

+1 to Tylk for one of the more obscure cartoon references out there, but there was only one cartoon girl in our hearts out there for most of us...

Obviously don't remember the name of the cartoon, but it was always on around the time of Tom and Jerry.
It was the one where a baby car souped up to make himself a hot rod and his parents were disappointed.
Does this ring a bell?

Well cartoons...gotta be Transformers, GI Joe and of course Thundercats! Hooooooooooo! (Winicott this is not meant to be any kind of juvenile comments like you make!)
I think we all were lucky enough to grow up in an awesome time. Most of us grew up with the earliest video games, had the best cartoons and even though it was cheesy, the 80s had tons of awesome music!

BAHAHAHA!! I totally remember that one! I can't remember the name of it, but I loved that one. Didn't he have a fox or raccoon tail on his antenna?
Woody Woodpecker! They don't replay that anywhere, and that was my absolute favorite.

Reading through the last four pages brought back some very good memories. Airwolf, Dukes of Hazzard, Knightrider, A-Team, GI Joe and Transformer cartoons. All great throwbacks. Crappy Nickelodeon game shows, Mighty Mouse, and of course The Peoples Court with judge Wapner. (I can blame my Grandma for always watching that one.)
