gamestop "refurbished" my ass

So my son's ps2 died last night the same day we received some crazy old rare title he wanted so needless to say he was uber bummed having waited weeks for this title to come in and the very day it does the ps2 dies.

So I figure fiddy bucks I'll get a refurb from gamestop.

Long story short I opened the box and it smelled like a wet ashtray and this is what was inside....

Had similar sitiation. Gramma in Vegas bought my boy a DS at Gamestop...WITH Warranty. brought it out here, 1 week later, it didn't work. Like yours, it looked like it had been through Hitler's ass.
My wife brought my son to the nearest Gamestop and attempted to exchange it. I got a text "They won't take it." So I sent a text, "On my way home from work, and only a couple minutes away, get me the name of the douchebag your talking to"

Don't know it it bothers me more that they sold this crap to my boy, or that I have to go down to take care of something that they should have just, you know, taken care of.

Anyways, I believe Gamestop will be going by the way of VCR's and Video rental stores in the near future.

I just got off the phone with Gamestop corporate office. Sent them the pics they claimed every console "should" be sent to a "refurbishing center". I said there is no way this thing did that - it appears to have come from the bowels of a pawn shop.

At any rate they gave me a $10 off coupon and I should have 30 days to return or exchange it no questions asked which I will be doing today.

That is disgusting. enough said.

I got an email reply - after I forwarded them pictures and a district manager is going to be in contact with me allegedly...squeaky wheel

I don't want anyone, much less Gamestop, to refurbish my ass

well I am honestly shocked how fast gamestop resolved this issue

I went back to the store I purchased this nasty ass thing from the manager was there and already knew what was going on (having been contacted by the regional) he apologized and gave me 50% OFF!! not to mention the $10 code I was given when I called corporate.

Turns out upon closer investigation of the box some dumbass employee put a pre owned sales sticker over a DEFECTIVE one. Which explains why when I first hooked it up to my Mitsubishi it flaked out and went into a input loop (caused by a bad / corrupt input signal) which I had to look up in the manual how to reset the tv to fix it.

So I picked up a new unit - which both the manager and I looked over beforehand (this one is spotless). Gamestop hit this one out of the park in terms of customer service.

Wow, from what feels like a gamer pawn shop when it comes to used/refurbs sometimes, That really is impressive. I wouldn't have expected that much.
