| Play a game of FFA. I know I harp on this, but when you're in a FFA game, you only have 8 players and they are almost always local. Hit detection is perfect, guys drop with the precise amount of bullets needed for a kill. FFA is the only thing that gives me therapy when my Dom connection is horrendous and I can't kill anyone.
My KD is almost 2.0 in FFA and rising...overall, I seem stuck at 1.19 in other game modes, and I am often unable to use a rushing class because of the constant lag.
Here's the magic FFA setup:
MP7 silenced, ext mags MP9 silenced (TRUST me...this thing is like carrying a second SMG...fastest ads among all MPs, no recoil and stupid good range.
Perk 1-SoH Perk 2-Hardline Perk 3-Dead Silence or SitRep Pro Tactical-Flash Lethal-Betty
Assault-UAV, Pred, Attack Heli
When the game starts, DON'T rush. Immediately find cover and someone will rush by, yielding an easy kill. Then find an area to patrol with only 2 or 3 areas of access...use a betty to cover one side, and then patrol the other 2. Once you get UAV, you can be a little more adventurous, because very few run Assassin. Use sound to your advantage. It is a huge help.
Fight the urge to run around the map. Constant random spawns will always keep enemies running near you. Once you get Pred, take cover and try to get a kill or double yielding you the Heli. 90% of the time, the Heli will get you 8+ kills...NO ONE shoots it down. If you die, rinse and repeat. I usually end up 28-9 or something, many times winning 30-5.
You can also run Specialist, but lately I've been finding I can win more games because of the many heli kills in rapid succession.
So in closing, if you are finding the level grind boring, and the connections, crap, give FFA a shot, just use a cautious playstyle and you'l clean up on the XP and win a few.

| I am too afraid to go into FFA. Especially for a player thats not very good like myself. I feel that everytime i would see someone i would just die.... heh. Although i like your advice about how to go about it. I might check it out. I dont think i have ever used the MP9. Gonna have to check that out too. |

| Don't be afraid, you'll love how powerful the weapons actually feel. Most noobs go in and get slaughtered because they play recklessly. It's not Dom with predictable spawns. If you rush too much someone will spawn behind you and shoot you in the back. Just understand the mechanics of the game and you'll do well. |

| It's weird. You only get a WIN for W/L if you are first, BUT finishing top 3 counts in your Win Streak and Operations contracts. It's Stupid, I know. |

The MP7 take 2 years to reload. You could also run Scavenger, or Blind Eye, but I find weapons so easily Scav seems like a waste. Blind eye is only useful if you are running out in the open trying to shoot down air support, and I generally stay indoors in FFA. If air support becomes bothersome I'll switch to a blind eye class, but it's not that problematic. |

| A lot of times i do the same thing. "Patrol" a certain area. Then, if i did well, when we get back to the lobby someone will accuse me of camping. I came across this style of gameplay by accident one day. And then i read about it on another forum. I was in a hallway in Arkaden and i shot a guy in front of me. Then i turned and shot another guy coming from behind. I whipped back around and got the first guy who was coming back for revenge. I thought to myself "Wow, if they keep coming in here i will keep killing them!" And besides, i was sorta pinned down cause when i would try to get out of there a guy would be in the way. I went on an 8 killing streak nonstop(that is totally badass for me). I even had to pick up someone's weapon and earned some title from using three weapons or something. I finally died when i took a chance and tried to use my predator. Bad move, i got killed. Got back into the lobby and a couple of asses accused me of camping But i learned something. When i am with a random lobby full of jackwagons, I will "patrol" an area and it seems to work pretty good for me. |

| FFA has been my new-found love for a while now. If I'm not running with clannies I'll jump into FFA and tear it up.
FBD, you give some great advice. My only disagreement is with your opening strategy. The spawn points at the opening of an FFA round are fixed. If you spawn at the top of the game and know of another spawn point nearby, go after it. Chances are the other player won't know you're coming yet. Otherwise, if you don't know the spawn points for that map, I agree, find cover immediately and stay there for a few seconds.
I normally run the P90, with silencer and rapid fire, and akimbo FMG9's as secondary. A silenced P90 is great for hiding, but the FMG's are great when I want to draw others in to me. I do better with the specialist streak, so that I can run blind eye and hardline right away, and get my SoH and Assassin as part of the streak. Scavenger is last in the streak, because I'm usually close to being out of ammo by that time. |

| Oh, and watch out for FFA's "revenge spawn" system. When you take out an enemy, the game will often spawn that enemy at the closest spawn point to you, so they can immediately come back for revenge. |

| Specialist is unquestionably good for FFA, and you can rack up nice games and XP with it. Lately I've been trying to win outright, which requires a race to 30 kills and the Hardline Attack Heli seems to be a better choice for getting to 30 for me. Id say only 1 out of 10 helis called in are shot down...it's unbelievable. Usually only on Mission or Village.
The revenge Spawns are funny sometimes. Guys seem to pop up in your back pocket! |

| The only reason I don't play FFA like I used to on MW2 is the spawn setup. I think the spawns in team games are more reliable and less chaotic but I used to clean up in FFA. I need to get back in there and see what's up. |

| I'll have to try it. Never was a fan of FFA as I like playing with clannies too much, but you make it appealing. |
