[sarcasm font] My favorite is the no used games part...[/sarcasm] Makes me wonder if the disk will be a thing of the past. Apparently there is no 'Try before you Buy'. Bummer.

Would SONY be foolish enough to allow XBOX to use blu-ray? Someone with more of a business mind tell my how that would make sense.

Sony would get a royalty from every XBOX that sold. Plus it would enlarge the market for Blu-ray discs, for which they also get a royalty for every one sold.

I think that would game stop out of business if they took away used games.

It makes business sense to increase the market saturation of blue ray, especially since it will be the dominant format for the next 5-10 years. Not sure if blue ray will.support 3D. It also makes sense to run middle men game resellers out of business by eliminating physical storage media in order to prevent resales of software. Somehow I doubt the reduction of physical media will corallate to a reduction in price. It is hard to predict though. Look at movie rentals. Going to a.digital format killed the brick and mortar rental chains, but netflix and stores like them emerged and overall prices declined..

I wish they'd go totally away from discs and switch to a simple flash drive of some type.

That no used game bit is the most worrisome part. If PS4 allows for used games and Xbox 720 doesn't then I'd lean heavily towards switching consoles.

Downloadable games? Like the PSP Go? lol

I knw I wld play a less veriety of games. Because trading, borrowing and buying used are the way for me.
