patch 1.08

Infinity Ward has launched Modern Warfare 3 title update #8 for the Xbox 360 last week, adding a variety of tweaks and performance enhancements. The fact that all Akimbo weapons are going to now possess a 50% reduction in fire rate, should greatly alter how players customize their classes and therefore transform gameplay enormously.

Robert Bowling creative strategist at Infinity Ward confirmed the MW3 patch 1.08 for Xbox contains:

improved lag comp
theater fixes
YouTube uploads are now 100x faster
nerf to Striker (pellets reduced to 6)
buffs to all other shotguns (9 pellets)
all akimbo weapons nerfed (rate of fire reduced by 50%)
fix to an issue that prevented some users from receiving prestige token after prestiging

I wish they would stop dicking with weapons. All they are doing is pissing off their community.

every time they improve it, lag comp gets worse.

by akimbo they mean FMG9s. 50% reduction in fire rate!!!! why not increase recoil or make them less accurate, this is an extreme nerf... i dont even use them and this seems ridiculous.

ALL other shotguns get nine pellets! AWESOME, this is gonna make the crap-ass shotties even better, now you are just gonna see more AA12s and USAS12s, oh well the striker will still be good with damage proficiency, will wait and see if this patch kills the striker and fmgs.

Don't fret about what you see here (the lack of a mic fix)...considering this is the Xbox update...we will get the same but everything that has been said promises the PS mic fix will be there

ok make 1 shot gun worst then make all the others a lot better.... umm ok. Leave the FM's alone too i love hitting cats in the face before they even think to pull the trigger. But i have noticed since using the shotties my aim is horrible with other weapons now

Infaility Ward strikes again!

From what it looks like on the xbox side, the lag is exactly the same.

I'm taking another night off from this POS game. Ran with some of the guys last night and hit detection was way off, and I was getting killed by those magic corner carving bullets. Not to mention getting sprayed with bullets before I even see a guy rounding a corner.

This may sound dumb, but does the party leader affect the connection? Last night when Savvy was party leader, my first game of the night, I was shooting pixie dust and went like 15-20 on Arkaden, then he graciously made me leader and I had about 8 straight 2.5+ KD games in a row after that. Coincidence? Or is there some logic to party leader having a better connection? I also had 4 bars most of the night which is incredibly rare for me.

Inquiring minds want to know!

Yay!!!!! They haven't FIXED a damn thing yet! I guess you don't make money from patches, so who gives a damn, let's hurry up and get these new maps out! Here's 2 middle fingers to you IW!

before last friday when I was party host I sometimes had really good connections, since then when I am party host my connections sucks. Oh and once I gave you host last night it sucked too

I take it once he gave it to me it didn't get any better?...cause you were gone...

And it's not like a few new maps are going to improve things. The core issues will still be there.

Nice to see the other shotties getting buffed though and now might actually be playable.

The dual machine pistol thing (mainly FM's) was heavily needed. These things are SECONDARIES, for use when you run out of bullets or in a pinch. They should not ever be more effective at killing than any primary in the game.

We've all been guilty of using them with Steady Aim and just running around like mad. Be nice if that was eliminated and then we just deal with SMG's, Steady Aim and running around like mad. Those games always seem to be most effective to me on 80% of the maps.

I havent noteced any diffrence in any of these changes:

striker: still will clear a room with damage and ex mags

FMGs: Sill the best close range gun in the game, akimbo of course

Lag comp: Dont even get me fucking started! nothings changed

other shotties: ive been useing the 1887 for 6 prestiges and i dont see any diffrence, they should have buffed the fire rate or added attchments to this beast...

FBD I did not think so until last night. Parties seemed full so I ran solo, while doing so someone with a mic greeted me and said they saw me signed up in the local St Petersburg group. We were matched together and decided to party up after the match and he was leader. Some clannies jumped online and we started to pick them up (all EC) and I was top of the scoreboard for both teams 3 games in a row. The guy hosting was like 10 miles from me so IMHO i believe it makes a difference as I had 4 bars every game. With than being said I will continue and have no problems playing with Savvy, Bee, Audio as the leader or anyone else from the clan. I am in this clan for a reason and enjoy playing with each and everyone one of you....hell I even ran 4-5 games with the EUK guys last night playing on 2 bars. Location plays a factor with IW's shitty matchmaking and connection but we all know this is temporary as that never seemed to be an issue in BO.

i've been having the same problem, i watch killcams and wonder if these guys have x ray vision, or they had special training from anjelina jolie on how to curve your shots.

I love Savvy (in a manly, kicker/placeholder kinda way) but his connection is like kryptonite to my KDR when he pulls host. Its so apparent when it happens, I can call it w/o looking at the leader-board screen.

Do we have any network engineers in the clan that can tell me whether a centrally located , shared but private proxy would present any kind of benefit? Id be happy to look into setting something up in the cloud.

Savvy is and has always been my connection bitch. Trouble is, I like playing in his parties, so I sacrifice my connection and suck it up. I'm trying to curb my whining too. (12 step program) Bee is another guy that I like playing with, but is kryptonite. Audio, I don't seem to have a huge problem playing with...perhaps he does though.

It's amazing how much fun this game can be when you get good it detection. I'd be a 2+ KD for sure if I played with 4 bars. It's really the only reason I cheat on all of you and play FFA sometimes. Just to experience great connections.

FFA is my version of chocolate bon-bons too..
