BF3: Small Vehicles, Mines, and You.

So I ust read that you can put anti tank mines on the front of your small vehicle (Growler, Buggy, Jeep) and ram into a tank and blow it up. Apparently you don't die since it is firendly fire...

Oh hell yeah i need to try this. I love my AT mines and having a new use for them would equal more fun.

I have done it accidentally. The mines stack on the front of the jeep and it turns into a "jihad jeep" It sorta worked. As I was driving it one of the mines fell off and I ran over it killing myself. If someone else puts the mines on the jeep I bet it wouldn't kill me and I can pursue martyrdoom. I was thinking that c4 stapped to the jeep would do the same thing, hop off and clickiety clack boom the car bomb goes. The mines are nice because they are not command detonated.

A second nasty trick is to load up a jeep with C4 near a flag, leave the jeep and wait for an enemy to snatch it and blow them to smithereens. Seems to work better in the conquest assault since there are less vehicles to use.

On the same token Nathan, I used to get out of a tank at a flag and put a mine on top of it, so when the idiot thinks he is going to get a free tank, it blows up in his face, literally. I'm not sure if that works in BF3, but worst case, you can put one in front and one behind, that way no matter which way he moves BLAM!!!

Wonder if you can stick C4 to a MAV?

Let the Recon guy fly it around, the Support guy goes about his business and when it's time the Recon guy communicates to detonate to the Support guy. Boom?

Last night on bazaar i ran into an enemy near the back corner of the map and he was standing on top of a MAV. He had his back to me so i hit him with a melee and all it did was slash at him so i stepped back and jumped into him with melee. That got the knife animation then i destroyed the MAV. It was curious cause i remember in BFBC2 there was a glitch where you could get someone to stand on top of the little chopper UAV and the operator could fly them anywhere. I saw a few times a recon standing on one way up in the sky. It was damn hard to kill them.

Nah. I can't justify giving up a major combat multiplier like a tank to get my cheap kill thrills. tanks are too valuable. Loading up the free jeeps that are located at the flags is my MO if I am running a support class.

One night i came around a corner only to be face to face with the ass end of a LAV. It was just sitting there raining fire on a position and wouldnt you know i had nothing left for my RPG. I had mines left so i planted 2 near the rear and 2 on the side then stepped back and fired some rounds to try to get its attention. Sure as shit it swung around and saw me and the driver started to turn to chase me but got a lovely suprise doing so. I couldnt stop laughing my ass off on how it actually worked.

The MAV elevator glitch is something that will hopefully get patched. It's how people get up on places not usually accessible short of parachuting out of vehicles.

Its alwasy fun to run a baited ambush and sucker in the LAV's and tanks trying to get the cheap kills. Surprise.

Planes and heli's get away from me but if I can get to it...that vehicle is gone.

Everytime I see someone jump in a tank without someone to repair it my common sense screams "WHY".
