The wait is over...

Most of my deaths come from a large crappy tube tv as opposed to some clear plasma tv. Hard to spot guys at long range when they are one large pixel blob.

It's also hard to consistently get out of "CoD mode" where you think you can run around and Rambo everyone yourself.

Im rocking a 1.14 kd. I was around .5 for a week till things sunk in. This game with the objective modes its more of how much points you can rack up. I can go play TDM in BF3 and easily have a 3kd but its just not as fun as conquest or rush modes. The vehicles make it tougher to have a high kd. Yeah kills are great but add in some caps and vehicle destruction and points will stack quickly. I die way more than any COD game but it doesnt bother me as much in this game. Blowing shit up never gets old.

I've tried the kool aid and will not throw away/sell the disc yet... especially since those that have gone before me rave about it and have been patient enough to spend some time in matches with me, not to mention the fact that playing a FPS without x30x's sends me into seizures. Not enough time with the game to be anything other than a noob. But I will be the first to express this opinion about BF3; WTF am I supposed to do and ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

You're supposed to cap flags and try to kill the other guy more than you get killed. Harder than it sounds because this game has many more layers than mw3. When you get lost just hop in a jeep and try to run guys over or stay back and play the suicide medics role.

This is why I fear I wouldn't like it. Laying back and reviving guys just seems bo-ring. I guess that's why my ADD prefers the madness of MW3. If I can't get 25+ kills per match and hit at least a few good KS, I feel unfulfilled. Seems like the average BF3 match is like 8-9 kills. And if I want to drive vehicles or fly jets, I'll play GT4 or Ace Combat.

I'm glad you guys like it, and hope you'll find time to cheat on your girlfriend, but the more gameplay I watch and the more descriptions I hear, I'm pretty convinced it's not for me.

Say what you want about IW, they made some big improvements to the franchise. Claymores aren't unlocked until level 53, portable radar and tac inserts are thankfully late unlocks too. It's definitely rusher friendly. (Connections and matchmaking were actually really good last night too.)

So far it has just been way too slow a pace for me. It takes a good long while to unlock gear/level up. I managed to get an Acog for the M16 in a match and was excited about that because thus far I am routinely picked off at a distance and I thought it might help. Next match I could not equip it?!?! Flying = Crashing. Lay down med packs? Where is the best place to put them down? I have managed to revive 1 player with my shocky paddles, yay!

I don't doubt that it is a good game, because I respect the opinions of the people that are enjoying it. It has been frustrating for me and I haven't been able to jump in with both feet. Put up with me when I pop in, I always appreciate the support I get from the clan. I think it is just going to take a while to grow on me.
