Activision Confirms New Call of Duty Game in 2012

During its 4th Quarter earnings call today, Activision confirmed that a new Call of Duty game will be coming in 2012.

This comes as no surprise since the franchise has seen new titles annually and Modern Warfare 3 has made over a billion dollars. Still, this marks the first time that Activision has plainly stated that a new Call of Duty game will be released this year.

No information on the title was revealed. Previously, reports suggested that Activision may be prepping Black Ops 2, though that hasn't been confirmed. Sledgehammer has been hiring for a new Call of Duty game, and Infinity Ward is working on a next-gen Call of Duty.

Vegas, we can only hope they are helping in the idea department and not actual development/coding/whatever else.

Saavy siad one of the best things I have heard in a while last night. These development studios need to quit with the creative stuff and stick with making the connection good.

And this is exactly what we said about Black Ops during the Hype Phase of MW3.

Wohoo bring on the Black OPS. Now if we could get the tokens, emblems ect. support KS, and the Special Ops Missions from MW3. The money, chant, and customization of player cards from Black Ops.

Is that to much to ask for, I know that whoever does BO2 or whatever the next COD game is will probably only use what they have used befor. Wouldn't want to make it to good of a game by using pros from all the games.

Just think though, when was our bitching/moaning/disappointment this bad with Blops? NEVER, is the correct answer to that question! Bottom line, IW sucks in comparison to Treyarch, but at the end of the day, Craptivision still runs the show over both of them! They are the true source of the problems.

I am on the fence. Looking back I liked the 3arc product. We liked BO, I hope to like the new installment they make.

If there is an awesome deal I might pre-order. Hey, maybe by there Elite will be working!

There is lots of BF3 to play in the mean time and lots of time to make a descision.

I will hold off on the preorder this time. I got snookered last time, and if I do feel the need to preorder it will not be the hardened edition just to get some stupid pixelated camo for a gun that I will never use. What was the founders comoflauge? OH yeah, nothing cool. Dammit I want hearts, rainbows, and pink unicorns on my gun just so I can say F-U in the kill cam.

When can we rep-order ?

I still say the pack a punch camo should be in multiplayer somewhere dammit!

I may hold off for BF4. I will say that I loved BLOPS, and if its a BLOPS2 then I may get it but not on a preorder, maybe not even for a few weeks after the release.

HAHAHA, my thoughts exactly.

The lobby bs never bothered me that bad with black ops and I think that was there biggest problem. MW3 has the worst game play I've seen since resistance:fall of man I just play bf3 and it's bad too it just seems the lesser of two evils. Lol
