Building up a dedicated "Strategies" section on the forum

@WREG: Absolutely! Any kinds of 'favourite': Sniper locations, IMS/Claymore locations, Portable Radar locations (I'll add some of these - love the port radar!), etc...

If a location is suggested that no appropriate category exists for, we'll just add it.

I agree that sshots or quick vids to actually show locations would be really helpful. (we might even be able to do these without need for a PVR using Theater mode - haven't looked into how it works with a linked youtube...)

So the only remaining thing in the way to running a pilot (or two or three!) is Domination-Mode maps to include in the top of each pilot sheet. Anyone have a few links I can use to link into the templates?

Well, the first template is up! (though, I'm guessing you might have seen that already!)

Let's try to keep discussions about the template and format here, and discussions about the actual strategies in the pilot thread. If all goes well, we'll just transition the pilot map(s) into the final collection.

So far, I've got one call for "Lockdown" as the next pilot map. Any other suggestions?

Maybe do sections for game play style for maps. Run gunner, camper, sniper, riot shield, asshat.

Also, kill streaks that do well and ones that do bad. Example stealth bomber sucks on bootleg. The bridge give too much cover.


I think we should start with the maps that suck. Downturn, Bakaara, Carbon

First of all, I wanted to say that your pilot for Bakaara is freakin awesome, especially the supersized callouts on the map. The contributions made on that thread already make this a worthwhile venture, and I can't wait to see what you guys can come up with for


1. DOWNTURN
2. Carbon (especially disaster recovery and do not cross lines)
3. Liberation (Coming very soon for PS3, need a heads up)
4. Piazza (same as above)

And really, the rest of them. There are going to be hidden nuggets even for the most seasoned and gold for the rest of US.

Nice work Arcani!!! Much appreciated. And only 15 or so posts into the forum. What are you going to be doing after you are warmed up? Wow!

@Dead_Eric: I've had a few calls for strike packages, etc, and have added a section to the template for "Recommended Loadouts and Strike Packages". (I've not edited the inline template 'stub' above, further edits will be done inline in the pilot threads) I think this'll cover your suggestion towards 'game play for maps', as in "what kinds of class to run for each map?"

@Captain Hammer: I can't actually take credit for the maps! They're the maps that are located on imgur.com, they just happen to be licensed under a Creative Commons Share-Alike license (and I've now included the appropriate license link) and meet the basic requirements for the Domination pilot run.

@Chef Fidget: LOL! Playing MW3 with the clan and kicking some serious ass when we're running unified, well-oiled strategies!! This 'little' endeavor will probably consume most of my experience on this Forum, but if we can organize and foster solid discussions (even debates?!?) over strategies, we'll all learn new tricks / tips / tactics / etc...

Also, I'm going to try and kick-off another couple of pilot threads today. They will be completely bare (except for the map, and the cries for help!) so let's throw out the ideas!

Also, please bear in mind that it will take time to incorporate the floods of ideas into the templates, and this is a side hobby for me, so feel free to use the discussion thread itself until the sheet can be updated!

Thanks again for your support on this project. Everyone's strategies combined will be pretty impressive to see as it grows!
