where do you stand on the riot shield.

As a weapon it's horrible but from a defensive stand point I don't think you could beat it.As long as you have the fmg9 and slight of hand pro you will win most one on one's. I myself find it funny when people see the riot shield turn around and start running from you only to get shot in the back.C4 is a bit of a problem but if you're enemies don't have it you're good to go.Last but not least its just fun as hell to kill someone with the RS and hear the rage over it.But I would like to hear your thoughts on the RS like it love it or hate it.

I could rock a RS all day in MW2 and keep a good KDR. In MW3 it works different and takes some time to get the hang of. I hated it when I stared using it, now that I've given it a week and got the hang of it I like it. Things to keep in mind when using it.

1 use hardline pro and support streaks.
2 when running make sure the guy you're running at is on the left side.
3 backing around a corner usually makes the guy follow you. Swap weapons and wait.
4 reloads are a good time to strike.
5 when your RS is shot and a teammate kills the guy you get an assist.
6 make sure the gun shooting you is in the middle of your screen

Most kills in a match = 15
Most assists = 28
Most deaths = it's too embarrassing to post publicly

I like the RS, just never could get the hang of it.

I really like the riot shield throwing knife combo. Great way to work on your knife skills. Only down side is you have to run quickdraw pro over hardline pro.

got any more tips Eric??? I've been using it a lot for Drop Zone and have almost all the challenges done (still working on deflecting 1000 bullets & absorbing 50000 damage). Not sure how I'll ever get the 3 melee kill streak with the shield.

I can almost hold an entire Drop Zone for the minute when I'm also running Blind Eye Pro & Blast Shield Pro. Easy way to level up by getting assists when your teammates shoot the enemy.

And run Scavenger for free knife refills!

No sure if this works in MW3 but it did in MW2...Run assault, and get sentry gun. Let the enemy capture it and find it with SitRep. Stand in front of it with the RS and absorb all the hits. Should help you level it up in no time. Just make sure you're not running assassin or it won't shoot you!

**Blind Eye** - I hear this all the time "couldn't find anyone with the (insert Killstreak here) they must all be running Assassin" It's Blind Eye that does that. Assassin makes you invisible on radar only, not to killstreaks. Not pissy about it or want anyone feeling hurt, just don't want folks misinformed.


Sentry guns get a little funny, they stop shooting at you and try to acquire a new target. then when you walk in front of them again you get odd points for the hits +4 +7 +17 normal is +50 +100 +150.

I'm going for all of the titles for RS and have a few thousand bullets to absorb before I'm done. I'll try to get some videos up soon.

new tips:

- my current loadout for RS
Riot Shield
MP9 or MX25 (preset at spawn to 3-5M for hipfire.
C4 or Throwing Knife
Stun Grenade (makes them run slower)
Slight of Hand Pro (swap weapons faster)
Hardline Pro (2 assists count as kills)
Sit Rep (let teammates know where stuff is)
Support Streaks = UAV, Counter UAV, Recon Drone (tagged kills = assist)
Death Streaks = Martyrdom (I do better with this than Dead Mans Hand)

Note - I've been thinking about running specialist with Blast Shield or Quick Draw 1st because they are helpful but I'm going for outrageous assist numbers and the RD helps a lot.


- Your Riot shield will break and become useless! Most of us die before it happens but it does happen.

- run into another RS guy? swap to your secondary and do a spinning knife lunge as the go past you. (easiest way to kill a RS guy)

- you already run slow, why not swap your secondary for one you find that you like better.

- I have my best match with the RS on Mission and Bootleg.

I just like to follow behind somebody on my team that's running RS and shoot the guys that go into a panic by either unloading on the RS or freezing up and trying to manuever around it...
