BF3 >30< Server?

Possible Server Cost for the Year

It appears to be just a guess ATM. $300.
$25 a month.

5 guys is only $5 a month for a >30< server.

More than 5 and it is even less. Cheaper than the cost of XBL.

What does having a dedicated server get us?

Can we still be an XP server and just take maps out we dont want to see?
Can we select how teams are grouped?
Can we make a setting "If you run >30< in a gamer tag you will end up on the same team"?
Can you take out a gun and still get XP for the matches?
Can we find one central located enough in the US (Chicago, DesMoines, KC, Lincoln) so no one has to deal with lag?
Can we replace the tanks with unicorns?
Do we have access to VOIP still?
When the alien invasion comes would you rather be a slave or food?
When BO2 comes out in less than a year will we want a server?

Ten guys a month would be easy. Still to many unanswered variables about a server. Consoles have less features than pc so you can't compare pc servers to what we would get. Plus getting randoms to populated the server may be tricky. I am for seeing how the next patch influences team match making before commuting to a server.

To me the biggest thing would be to set the settings to get us on the same team and still get XP.
Getting people to come play on our server sounds like a challenge... I can see the posts now "Hey come play with us on our server so we can all team up and play against you..." I bet they will come running...

Obviously this is still out for discussion, but to touch on getting people into the server, we would just need to make sure we keep it populated whenever possible. If we play on it regularly, it would get to the point where it would auto-populate because the rules are reasonable, and we keep it asshat free. I could be wrong, so I think this will be better discussed once we find out exactly what we can do with a server of our own.
