Leveling up secondaries/Ignoring Invites

Sorry to those who sent me invites over the weekend. I was busy leveling up all my secondaries in HC FFA.

In case you're interested in the challenge, it pays a huge dividend in XP and it is really a fun little change of pace from Dom..

It also unlocks additional Titles when you achieve max weapon level.

Handguns are utterly useless in Core modes, but super fun in HC.

The MP412 is a hoot. Always a OSK and surprisingly good range. Even the wimpy P99 is fun. Extreme Cond, Assassin and Dead Silence with a Silenced P99 is a trip.

I've been running across some cool randoms in HC FFA who are willing to all run handguns too, so it makes it even more fun. There are inevitably still some dorks using baby monitors and toobs, but for the most part it has been great fun. You'll crank thru the XP and it has improved my K/D a bit too.

Perhaps we can play these in Public lobbies as a clan? Being that I'm still grinding thru prestiges, I don't really like playing private much, but I thought you guys would have fun with this little used mode and these little used weapons.

Let me know if you need any setup tips. I was a bit surprised to see I ranked #5,200 in the world out of 390,000 in HC FFA. I haven't even really played it that much.

I'd be willing to give it a go...I don't have any problems with trying to sneak in extra XP...cuz there is no way I would touch those handguns in core games. Unfortunately I'm not around much during the peak playing hours...

I enjoy mixing up the loadouts. If you see me online, shoot me an invite, I'd be happy to join ya!

You got me hooked on it FBD. Have been playing till I meet up with a party and then also a couple games before i get off. Do hand guns and also am working on the striker and model 1897.

Heh, when I sent you the invites I saw you were sporting the MP412 gold title and was perplexed. Well, congrats FBD. I may try to join your lobby next time I see you in there!

I have yet to level up a Striker, but that's great advice Sith. As soon as I unlock it I'm going to give it a go to see what all the fuss is about!

FBD, count me in...I like the change of pace idea plus leveling up. I wouldn't mind if we had a full lobby of 30s or just a few of us and make a pact to gang up on the other guys before turn on each other...j/k...FFA = kill everyone

FBD i actually have been doing this since you made the original thread about hc ffa. running around killing guys with my hand gun is hilarious, my last game i was 17-9 with just the usp.

Not to spoil the fun, but I don't think you can take a party into FFA? Otherwise, this sounds interesting. Maybe after I prestige...

You don't have to party up to get into the same ffa game. Simply join someone on your list in either a FFA match or pre-game lobby and you are in the same game. Wouldn't take much time to bug out a lobby and fill up with 30s


should anyone be interested in the scenario I just described, I'm superfuckingdown for this idea. I love killing you guys as much as I do killing next to you guys, as is evidenced in the 30 on 30 violence thread.

U should hear the love post game when I win 30-6 and call in 2 helis using only an mp412!

Some people actually call me a try hard for using a piece of junk p99. Priceless. I feel pretty confident I can get a moab if I actually use an smg or ar with specialist.

I fooled around leveling up the USAS last night in HC FFA. Haven't unlocked range or damage yet, but USAS with a silencer is freakin' SWEEEET in HC! It reminds me of the silenced Spas in Blops...has that nice little squirt gun sound..."Skoosh...Skoosh...Skoosh!"

I know the stats show the range with silencer to be about 3 1/2 feet, but you couldn't prove it by me...still could reach out across a building with 1 shot ease. Can't wait to see what range does.

Akimbo 57's rock, I have used them on dom for many prestiges......DZ is also another great game mode for leveling up guns.

The 57's are fun as hell...crazy range and uber fast reloads. I can't kill shit with them in core though. You can basically snipe with them in HC. I shot a guy camping in the restaurant balcony in Seatown from the little room near the small reflection pool. I wish he could have seen the killcam.

I tried a few HC FFA games last night and found it campy. All back shooting and UAVs.
I'd rather do that with clan members or not at all.

You have to soundwhore a bit. The 7.1 surround is a huge help for me I guess. I always set up shop in a high traffic neighborhood and listen for the footsteps, thus getting the jump on them.

You can't run the edges of the map because that's where all the spawns are in FFA...you'll constantly get shot in the back. Stay in the interior and patrol a small area. Once you get a heli up, it almost guarantees u a win because no one shoots them down in FFA.

You can stay on the perimeter, but you'll get fewer customers because they won't spawn anyone near you.

Also, you HAVE to run assassin. I run BE Pro on open maps to avoid becoming pred bait, EC or SoH depending on the weapon I'm using on maps with lots of buildings. Then Assassin Pro (always) and Dead Silence Pro (always).

I run UAV, Pred, Heli just for fun, but Specialist is awesome too. In that case, sub Hardline for Ass Pro and add it into the first perk slot at 1 kill.

Thanks FBD. I was running BE, assasin, and sit-rep. I used my silenced ACR to take down airsupport and my pistol for the kills. Never got more than 2 notches before I died.
Plus you rack up the losses in this game mode even if you perform relatively well. I'll still join against clannies but I doubt I will try this again on my own.

I never bother trying to shoot down air support as it leads the enemy right to you. All you need to do is finish top 3 for a win.

I never liked FFA, but know that you have explained it a little better I will have to give it a try.

It sort of sucks for the reasons Audio mentioned in the beginning, but once you get used to the spawns it is MUCH easier. Hell, I just randomly chuck grenades at the spawns sometimes and get easy kills.

There are a bunch of vids on the Tube showing the spawns.

next time I fire up MW3 (maybe tonight if I can get the warden to sign off on it) I will hop into a FFA and give it a try. Maybe I'll see you in there.
