I'll support Dave on this one. I know Vermont did not come out with a cup asking for handouts, and it says a lot about those who offered to pay, but this could set an uncomfortable precedent on the boards.

Anyone so inclined can help the guy out privately.

I have no problem with Vermont but I agree, if times are THAT tough perhaps the gametime can be dedicated to something different to help better your situation as a whole

Baby diapers are the ticket with wet phones. I had to jump into a pool to save a kid last summer with my iphone in my pocket. Someone at the party told me about the diaper trick, and it actually worked.

Take out the battery immediately and wrap the entire phone in a diaper as tightly as possible. Leave it set for 24 hours.

I'm very sorry that the PS3 is jacked up, but if you can't afford a repair or a new PS3 at this time in your life then in my opinion you should wait until you can. I don't know your current financial situation and don't really care to, nor do I want to be judgemental of you. Times are tuff on everyone. I don't want to come off as being an asshat, but if you can't afford to play you may have to wait until next year to play with us again. I don't want every Tom, Dick, and Harry thinking that because they are a member on this site that we will buy things or take up collections for them. (again I'm not saying that Vermont or anyone has done this)

We have a good group of caring guys and gals here that are willing to give donations to help people in need. I don't want to abuse that. On another note, not every cause is worth giving to and you can never trust every story that you hear.

(I do feel terrible that we didn't do a donation for IDREF, but no amount of money can replace the loss that he and his family endured.) My prayers are still with you.

Whatever you guys (x30x) do on your own is up to you, but I personally will not be taking up a collection for this. Vermont its not personal bud. I am sorry.

First off, no hard feelings Dave, I totally understand. I didn't ask for any of this nor was it my intention for this to snowball into what it became. I simply posted a farewell to you all. Barney_Killer187 made the suggestion to help a man down and it blew up from there. I'm taken aback by the sincerity of you all and the generosity you've shown. I'm just a voice on the other end of a mic, unlikely you've even seen my pic before. I was with x30x in the beginning, and now I know why I'm still here. I'd play with no others. You guys are the best. I had originally typed this up 2 and half hours ago and apparently hit preview instead of send. With all that being said, Kitten_336 made up a hell of a good lie about a power outage messing up our ps3, and gamestop did a defective exchange and didn't even count it against our extended warranty. We have a brand new one in our possession at the time of this writing. Thank you guys for everything !!! There are insufficient words in my vocabulary to express our gratitude. Now to put faces with our names. Here's Kitten_336, VermontKindBud and a little man named Donovan who lacks his own PSN name.... for now... LOL

A buddy of mine dumped a pop on his laptop. Turned off the power fast, opened the thing up and gently cleaned it up with a non- lint dropping cloth (paper towel). Stickey stuff was removed with rubbing alcohol (gently mind you). Let dry for 2-3 days and booted the thing back up. I saw pop in the motherboard. Thing works great. Free- only costs labor.

Sorry Vermont for your loss.
