MW3 Freezing up after match for anyone else?

Hey all, I am having some MW3 problems and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issues or if I need to take a closer look at my system.

This is what has been happening-

1) Start up MW3, no problem

2) Go online and get into a lobby with or without clannies, no problem

3) Play through match, no problem

4) Match ends watch final kill cam, no problem

5) Scoreboard comes up and FREEZE, big problem; system completely locks up and have to power completely down and reboot only to have it happen again.

I have been able to make it through a few lobbies but it inevitably happens again at some point. Anyone else experiencing this? I don't see any issues listed on the COD status webpage. Played Black Ops for an hour this morning without any issues so I don't think it is my PS3 acting up, although it is getting old. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If I am in game with you and I go poof from the lobby without saying goodbye forgive me, it is not intentional.

Last night w/ clannies it seemed like someone was getting dropped from the party after every other game.

Went through a phase a couple of weeks ago where this was happening to me in FFA. Then it just stopped, so figured it was a patch issue...have not had it happen since.

I had some lock up issues, cleaned a thumb print off the disc and they went away.

I had the exact behavior you're describing two years ago. As Dead_Eric said it's either smudges on the disc or....your Blu-Ray drive is dying. Mine died during the MW2 days and it would do exactly that. I would restart it just long enough to load the match and as soon as the disc was needed again (after the match) it would freeze up again. I had to replace the entire blu-ray drive and it wasn't a simple process since I replaced the laser assembly, not the entire drive. I hope it's just a dirty disc!

I have had a disc read error twice in the last 2 days. I will be playing MW3 online with clannies and freezes mid-match on a black screen. After a couple of minutes it says disc read error on the screen. Its really kinda pissing me off. Only happened so far while playing MW3. PS3 is only 1 year old (It is my replacement from my PS3 Fatboy that died 2 days b4 the PSN crash last year, R.I.P.).
